The dust is beginning to settle after all of the NBA moves this offseason. Here are the winners, loser and bystanders in the Eastern Conference from the NBA Offseason. Atlanta Hawks: Bystanders Notable additions: Carmelo Anthony, Trae Young, Jeremy Lin, Alex Len, Vince Carter Notable departures: Carmelo Anthony, Dennis Schröder There was really no way for the Atlanta Hawks to be winner or loser this offseason because there was no way they were going to land a top free agent. Instead, the Hawks made a deal with Oklahoma City that sent German point guard Dennis Schröder to OKC in…

Collin Sexton Flexed for the Entire League to See No, actually, Collin Sexton flexed in the 4th quarter while defending Josh Hart for the final shot in regulation with the game tied at 98. The Cavaliers may have lost this one in double overtime 109-112, but Sexton also flexed on the stat sheet, boasting 27 points, 3 rebounds, 2 assists, and 2 steals. Sexton was his team’s leading scorer, but also had 5 turnovers, which certainly hurt his team in the bigger picture of the game. Sexton is young, but he is talented, determined, and ready to flex on anyone…

Josh Hart and the Lakers Were Hot Josh Hart is looking more and more like he has a place on the Los Angeles Lakers in a significant role. On one play from the game, Hart made a diving save to keep the ball in play and then hustled down the court for a sweet transition finish. Hart ended the game with 18 points, but shot just 1-5 from the field. Hart tacked on 2 rebounds and 4 assists to his performance. The leading scorer for the Lakers, Svi Mykhailiuk, put up 19 points on 7-15 shooting from the field. While…

John Jenkins and Wade Baldwin IV Shine for Portland John Jenkins was the game’s leading scorer, with 25 points on a efficient 9-12 from the field and 3-4 from three-point range. Unfortunately, Jenkins was ineffective in other aspects of the game, recording just 1 rebound and 2 assists in the 21 minutes he played. Jenkins is yet another 6’4” guard that can shoot for the Blazers and has a game that is low on the list of needs for the Blazers. Wade Baldwin IV is in a similar boat. Baldwin IV is almost the same size as Jenkins. The difference…

Kostas Antetokounmpo Continues to be Productive Giannis Antetokounmpo’s younger brother Kostas continues to see limited minutes in Summer League. However, Kostas continues to make the most of his opportunities. On Friday, night he only played 11 minutes, but scored 10 points while going 3-4 from the field and 4-5 from the free throw line. Antetokounmpo’s night also featured a steal and, of course, a block. Jalen Jones was tied for the leading scorer for the Mavericks as he scored 21 points on 8-14 shooting. Jones added 8 rebounds to his night as well. Josh Adams also tied Jones in scoring…

Kevin Knox Struggled Mightily Kevin Knox was compared to Jayson Tatum during the Knicks Thursday night game against the Celtics. However, in this game the only attributes Knox had that were comparable with Tatum was that they both have two arms, two legs, and a head on their shoulder. Knox finished with 15 points on Thursday night but shot just 5-15 from the field and 2-7 from three-point range. The Knicks only lost 82-75, but Kevin Knox still recorded a +/- of -12 while on the court. Knox’s poor performance was masked by fellow rookie, and 36th overall pick in…

Collin Sexton’s Best Performance Sexton may be just 19 years old, but he is looking more and more like the best guard from the draft in the NBA Summer League. On Wednesday night, the Alabama product scored 25 points on 9-15 shooting. Sexton also added 4 rebounds, 7 assists, and a steal to his nightly totals. Overall, Sexton is proving he can score inside, but his three-point shooting was off tonight, as he went 0-2 on his three-point attempts. When combined with Cedi Osman, the Cavaliers are looking like they may be ahead of the rebuild process, since they are…

Kings Look Solid Six different Kings scored in double figures on Tuesday night. Their leading scorer, Justin Jackson, turned in 20 points on 8-13 shooting. He was able to frequently attack the rim and hit a fair amount of shots with the shot clock winding down. He was also able to convert 2-4 three-pointers in this game as well. Harry Giles turned in an excellent performance as well, contributing 11 points (5-11 from the field) and 12 rebounds. Giles has yet to make his NBA regular season debut due to knee complications last season, but if he can produce at…

DeAndre Ayton Posts Double-Double Deandre Ayton posted another double-double in the NBA Summer League in Monday night’s 71-53 domination of the Orlando Magic. This time, Ayton had 17 points (6-10) and 13 rebounds. Ayton was joined by Dragan Bender, who did his damage while Ayton was down low by making 3-of-6 three-point attempts and finished with 11 points. Another notable performance was that of Josh Jackson. Jackson went an ugly 3-13 from the field for just 9 points. Jackson has never been known to be an offensively-minded player, so maybe his three steals will help him keep his confidence on…

Kostas Antetokounmpo Sparks the Mavs Win The Mavericks beat the Golden State Warriors 91-71 on Monday night and had solid performances throughout their team. In particular, two late second-round picks from the 2018 Draft helped make the push for the Dallas victory. Ray Spalding was taken with the 56th overall pick in the 2018 draft but he turned in 8 points and 9 rebounds in the 19 minutes he played. Kostas Antetokounmpo had just 4 points, but he made an impact in every area he could. The 60th overall pick (there isn’t a 61st by the way) added 7 rebounds,…
