2023 IIHF World Women’s U18 Championship Format:

Teams will compete through a single round-robin series, and after that, four teams from Group A and the best two teams from Group B will advance to the playoffs. In contrast, the third and fourth-ranked teams in Group B will compete in a best-three relegations round series, with the loser getting relegated to Division 1A. The two top-seeded teams from Group A will receive a quarter-final round bye and automatically move to the semi-finals. The quarter-finals will be played between the 3A-2B and 4A-1B teams. 

In the semi-finals, the top-ranked side will compete against the lowest-ranked side, while the second-best ranked will play against the third-best ranked semi-finalist side.
