Two more NBA Postseason games are on tap this evening. In both games, the home team finds itself in a desperate situation as a result of losing their respective series openers on Sunday. While the Boston Celtics and Memphis Grizzlies try to make amends tonight, the Milwaukee Bucks and Golden State Warriros can both put the clamps down on their Second Round series matchups. There are several ways to make NBA betting picks action on the games today, including player props. The following article offers three of the best NBA player prop bets for the May 3rd postseason doubleheader.

Best NBA Betting Player Props for Tonight, 5/3

Al Horford UNDER 10.5 Points (-103)

Kicking off our NBA betting picks for tonight is an intriguing plus-money under prediction involving Boston Celtics forward, Al Horford. Several Celtics players struggled shooting the basketball in Game 1 on Sunday. Horford was not one of them, as he actually knocked down a quartet of three-pointers in the loss. All 12 of the points he scored came from beyond the arc. Horford has now exceeded his per-game scoring average of 10.2 points in four of five games so far this postseason.

The fact that Horford averaged slightly less than the NBA props total over the course of the full season certainly means that the under is in play. Given the size and length the Milwaukee Bucks have on their roster, big men like Horford will presumably see plenty of minutes throughout this series. That being said, Horford receiving the 36 minutes he played in Game 1 could be asking a lot. It’s also asking a lot more for him to continue shooting so well from three-point range.

Stephen Curry OVER 5.5 Assists (-152)

Golden State Warriors superstar Stephen Curry finished just shy of this NBA player props assist total in Game 1 of the Western Conference Semifinals on Sunday when he recorded four assists. However, he had five dimes or more in each of the three games prior to that. Since the start of the NBA Playoffs, Curry has finished with no fewer than four assists in any game. Keep in mind too that he was coming off the bench and on a slight minutes restriction to begin the Warriors’ First Round series.

On the full season, Curry averaged 6.3 assists per game. As this mark sits nearly one full assist above the Game 2 NBA betting total, one could truly argue that it is worth playing over 5.5 assists. The Memphis Grizzlies are a sound defensive team, but they simply cannot contain all of the weapons the Warriors have. Keying in on Curry only figures to pave the way for him to dish to open teammates more often. The fact that the Grizz play at a fast tempo should also afford more possessions both ways and more opportunities for Curry to distribute.

Jaren Jackson Jr. UNDER 7.5 Rebounds (-134)

After a disappointing First Round series that was plagued by foul trouble, Grizzlies’ big man Jaren Jackson Jr. went off in Game 1 of the Western Conference Semifinals on Sunday. Jackson played 31 minutes and poured in 33 points to go along with 10 rebounds. This marked his second consecutive double-double performance and easily his best offensive game ever in the postseason. If Jackson can avoid foul trouble again tonight, another big stat line could be in the cards. However, that has proven to be easier said than done for the 22-year-old in the majority of games this postseason.

Oddsmakers have set Jackson’s NBA player props rebounding total at 7.5 ahead of Game 2. This line is nearly two full rebounds more than the 5.8 he averaged per game over the full season. Given that the Warriors own a top-five Rebound Rate ranking, nothing figures to come easily on the glass for Memphis in this series.

It’s also worth noting that Golden State was without Draymond Green for the majority of Game 1 after he was assessed a flagrant two foul and ejected. Unless a similar situation transpires in Game 2, Green’s presence on the interior throughout Tuesday’s contest is almost certain to disrupt Jackson’s productivity on the glass.
