In one of the more unpredictable NFL seasons in recent memory, hats off to you if you are still alive in your survivor pool. The preseason contenders are underperforming, while the thought of last-place teams look like some of the better teams through six weeks. If you are unaware of what NFL Survivor picks are, the basic concept is that you make NFL picks throughout the season, but you can only pick a team once. Once you lose, you’re knocked out, so choose your Week 7 NFL Survivor Pool picks wisely.
If you are new to reading my survivor articles, what I do is outline my “lock of the week,” my “value of the week,” and my “high-risk, high-reward pick of the week.”
The “lock” details what team I think has the best chance of winning their matchup. This will most likely be a good team that plays a bad team. The lock is also the official pick for NFL Survivor Pools, meaning we will not reuse a “lock.” My value pick details a mid-tier team that has a good matchup. And finally, my high-risk, high-reward pick details a bad team that has a good matchup. It may be worth it to look at the NFL betting odds for these games and place some bets as well.

New York Jets vs Miami Dolphins
The New York Jets open their Week 7 matchup against the Miami Dolphins as 4.5-point favorites. While the Jets have yet to show that they can really be trusted, it makes sense that they are favorited in the game, given that the Dolphins are one of the worst teams in the NFL this season. Given that the Jets have this matchup, you have to take it, because there is not going to be another opportunity that you are going to confidently take the Jets.
The biggest advantage in this game comes on the offensive side of the ball for the Jets. Even if the Jets are without Breece Hall this week, Braelon Allen, partnered with an underrated offensive line, will be enough to keep the run game going against a bad Miami run defense. And then in the passing attack, New York’s receivers are getting healthier. Garrett Wilson is having the best season in the past few years, while Omar Cooper is coming off of the best game of his young career so far. There is nothing that really scares you in regard to the Dolphins’ pass rush, as they have the lowest sack rate in the NFL, so Geno Smith will be able to sit back and pick apart the Miami defense.
On the offensive side of the ball for Miami, the Malik Willis experiment has not totally yielded a great return so far, as he has passed for just two touchdowns on the season. Given that there is not a serious threat of the pass, the Jets can focus on stopping Ollie Gordon and the run game. If the Dolphins are unable to run the ball, they won’t get a pass game going.
According to our NFL Survivor Pool picks tool, the New York Jets have the second-highest pick score of the week. Check out our free tool to see who the top two highest scores are!

Houston Texans vs New York Giants
*Disclaimer* If I had the Texans available to take, I would take them here. The Houston Texans come into their Week 7 matchup against the New York Giants with the highest spread of the week, at 10.5. The number makes sense considering Houston picking up two big wins after starting 0-4 and the Giants’ injuries and inconsistent play really affecting their ceiling.
While he has gone through some ups and downs in his career, CJ Stroud has been playing pretty good football even without the threat of a strong run game. He sits at number two in passing yards this season through six weeks, and with Nico Collins back healthy, it is hard to say that Stroud is going to greatly regress. On top of Collins being healthy, Marvin Harrison Jr. will play more than 10 snaps this week, and Tank Dell is designated to return from his horrific knee injury. Add Dalton Schultz into the mix and all of a sudden Houston has one of the more underrated receiving rooms in the NFL.
On the other side of the field, JJ McCarthy is getting the start this week, and while he played well last week, it is hard to fully believe that McCarthy is the answer at quarterback after Jaxson Dart’s injury. Houston will be able to make McCarthy uncomfortable all week long, with Will Anderson looking like the best defensive player in the NFL so far. The Giants don’t pose much of a threat in the run game, so making McCarthy uncomfortable with Anderson is going to be key to getting into his head early.
I am not going to bank another monster game from McCarthy, so give me the Texans to pick up their third win a row here.

Cleveland Browns vs Tennessee Titans
The Cleveland Browns come into their Week 7 matchup against the Tennessee Titans as 1.5-point favorites. After taking down the Ravens last week, the Browns have now won four of their last five games and have a great chance to bump that number up to five out of six as they take on the Titans.
While the Titans picked up their first win of the season last week, there are still a lot of problems with the offense. Cam Ward has yet to fully make that jump, and the team has struggled to run the ball all season long. It really appears that in order to get the offense on track, Tony Pollard and the run game need to be the key. That won’t be the easiest feat this week, as the Browns are giving up just over 100 rushing yards per game to opponents over their last three games. In fact, Cleveland was able to hold Derrick Henry to just 58 rushing yards last week.
On the offensive side of the ball, Deshaun Watson is having the best season in recent memory. Over the past three weeks, the Titans have struggled against opposing quarterbacks, as they have given up just north of 250 passing yards per game. Denzel Boston and KC Concepcion will continue to have solid rookie seasons this week, as they create a great high-low duo.
While Cleveland is 4-2, it is hard to say that they have graduated out of the high-risk, high-reward territory, so just given what we have seen this season from the two teams, give me the Browns to beat the Titans this week.
