Week 4 is here. There were a few notable upsets last week, but for the most part, games went as expected. Now that we have a better idea of who the contenders are and who the pretenders are, our NFL Survivor Pool picks become just a little bit easier. If you are unaware of what NFL Survivor picks are, the basic concept is that you make NFL picks throughout the season, but you can only pick a team once. Once you lose, you’re knocked out, so choose your Week 4 NFL Survivor Pool picks wisely.
If you are new to reading my survivor articles, what I do is outline my “lock of the week,” my “value of the week,” and my “high-risk, high-reward pick of the week.”
The “lock” details what team I think has the best chance of winning their matchup. This will most likely be a good team that plays a bad team. The lock is also the official pick for NFL Survivor Pools, meaning we will not reuse a “lock.” My value pick details a mid-tier team that has a good matchup. And finally, my high-risk, high-reward pick details a bad team that has a good matchup. It may be worth it to look at the NFL betting odds for these games and place some bets as well.

Minnesota Vikings vs Miami Dolphins
The Minnesota Vikings come into the Week 4 matchup against the Miami Dolphins as 10.5-point favorites in what is the largest spread of the weekend. That makes sense considering that the Vikings are riding a hot defense and sit at 3-0, while the Dolphins look like one of the worst teams in the NFL and just lost De’Von Achane for the season. Without their home-run threat and with Malik Willis appearing to have too much on his plate after three weeks, Minnesota should be able to continue its game plan of sending pressure and getting after the quarterback.
While the Vikings offense has not been great this season, there is nothing on the Dolphins defense that really scares you. Even if Justin Jefferson misses this week with that ankle injury, Jordan Addison and Jauan Jennings have proven that they are quality receivers in the NFL. Both TJ Hockenson and Aaron Jones have also been playing quality football.
There may be some other matchups to look at, like the Baltimore Ravens vs Tennessee Titans, but going with Minnesota here makes more sense, so we can save Baltimore for the future.
According to our NFL Survivor Pool picks tool, the Minnesota Vikings have the highest pick score of the week. Check out our free tool to see who the next highest scores are!

Indianapolis Colts vs Washington Commanders
In our first London game of the season, the Indianapolis Colts enter the week as 3.5-point favorites over the Washington Commanders. While Washington picked up a major victory over the Seattle Seahawks last week, it is hard to imagine that they make it back-to-back wins, especially considering that they are traveling to the other side of the ocean. As for the Colts, they also picked up a big win over the Texans last week and will look to ride that momentum into Week 4.
When traveling overseas, it is not shocking that more emphasis gets put on the run game, something that works very well in the Colts’ hands. Last season in Germany, we saw Jonathan Taylor go for 244 yards and three touchdowns. With a strong run game, that will set up the pass, where we will see Tyler Warren excel this week. Washington has been bad against the tight end position this year, giving up 202 yards and five touchdowns to the position this year. For more stats like this, visit our Playbook tool. The Colts will be able to come in with one of the best running backs in the NFL to create a very balanced offensive attack in this game.
While Indianapolis is not a great team, the star power outweighs Washington in this one, giving the Colts a solid victory overseas.

Green Bay Packers vs Tampa Bay Buccaneers
In a battle of old NFC Central foes, the Green Bay Packers come into Week 4 against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers as 3.5-point favorites. With Tampa losing Baker Mayfield for the foreseeable future, it will be undrafted rookie Jalon Daniels who sees the start this week. Daniels was a productive player during his time at Kansas, but it is hard to be confident in saying that he can bring the same skill and energy to the Bucs offense that Mayfield does.
The story around the Green Bay Packers this season has been the poor offensive line play. They helped to remedy that by signing Laken Tomlinson, Mekhi Becton and Kevin Zeitler this week. While that may not bring an immediate fix, the Packers will have a solid matchup against the Buccaneers’ pass rush that has struggled to rush the passer this year. This will allow Tucker Kraft to be more involved in the pass game, leading to Green Bay having a little easier of a time moving the ball downfield.
This is a matchup of two teams moving in the wrong direction as franchises, so it feels a little odd to be confident in one, but it appears the chips are stacked more against the Bucs in this game, making Green Bay the pick this week.
