Nuggets vs Warriors Prediction
In the lead-up to Game 4 of this series, one of the Nuggets vs Warriors stats that came to light is that no NBA MVP Award winner had ever been swept in the First Round of the playoffs. Not only did Nikola Jokic win the award last year, but he is the favorite to take home the hardware again for the 2021-22 season. Jokic literally dragged the Nuggets to the 6-seed in the Western Conference. Although they may not win another game, he also did his part to ensure that it wasn’t a clean sweep. Jokic’s 37 points were just enough as Denver withstood a fourth-quarter rally by the Warriors to force a Game 5.
Unfortunately, as has been the case all series long, Jokic simply has no reliable help. Sure, Aaron Gordon played well in both of the games in Denver. He was hardly a factor in Games 1 and 2 in the Bay Area, the site of tonight’s Nuggets vs Warriors matchup. Monte Morris scored 24 points in Sunday’s win, but can we really expect him to replicate that performance?
On the flip side, the arsenal of weapons that Golden State has is endless. Heck, the Warriors nearly rallied for the win in Game 4 despite Jordan Poole only scoring 11 points, easily his worst outing of the playoffs thus far. With Stephen Curry, Klay Thompson and Andrew Wiggins all capable of big things offensively, the Warriors can easily afford one of their top guns to have an off night. Expect Draymond Green to bring the heat against Jokic defensively tonight as well as Golden State aims to finish off this series.
Nuggets vs Warriors Prediction: Warriors 122, Nuggets 109
