Undisputed WWE Championship Match: Cody Rhodes (c) vs. Gunther
Moneyline Odds to Win:
- Cody Rhodes: (-120)
- Gunther: (-120)
Believe it or not, this is the only bout on the WWE Clash in Italy 2026 Match Card that is not a rematch from any recent showcase event. Gunther charged Paul Heyman with delivering on a favor after helping him with his Seth Rollins problem at WrestleMania. That favor was ultimately a contract to join the SmackDown roster and face Cody Rhodes for the Undisputed WWE Championship.
This match could truly go either direction, and that sentiment is reflected in the evenly priced betting odds. While a Rhodes retention may seem like the obvious result to some, the “American Nightmare” has made somewhat of a habit of dropping the belt only to win it back later in relatively short order.
With Gunther being a newcomer to SmackDown, winning the title here would further cement him as one of the top dogs in the company today. It would also open the door for a rematch between these two at SummerSlam or sooner. He came to the blue brand to fight for and win the top prize, and I lean towards him ultimately getting the job done.
Of course, a major point of concern should the title change hands is how Rhodes would stay relevant. He truly doesn’t offer up much intrigue from a booking standpoint when gold isn’t around his waist or being pursued.
That, my friends, is where we enter Sami Zayn. After betraying Rhodes and choosing to let Gunther beat him mercilessly to close SmackDown last week, might he aid the challenger in Italy? Even if there is no interference, an elongated Rhodes vs. Zayn feud seems very realistic given the encounters between the two recently.
WWE Betting Picks: Gunther (-120)
World Heavyweight Championship Tribal Combat Match: Roman Reigns (c) vs. Jacob Fatu
Moneyline Odds to Win:
- Roman Reigns: (-500)
- Jacob Fatu: (+300)
Just three weeks removed from Roman Reigns and Jacob Fatu doing battle at WWE Backlash, the World Heavyweight Championship is once again up for grabs on the WWE Clash in Italy 2026 match card. This time, the stakes will be elevated as the Tribal Combat stipulation essentially equates to “anything goes”. Furthermore, the loser will have no choice but to acknowledge the victor as his tribal chief.
The build to this match has been interesting. Fatu continues to serve as the heel on the surface. However, I maintain my original stance that Reigns is NOT a true baby face. On the final RAW before Clash in Italy, Reigns suggested that Fatu will be forced to “serve him” after he defeats his cousin in tribal combat.
It was also noteworthy that Fatu pointed out that Reigns used the exposed turnbuckle to win cheaply at Backlash. Whether it’s in-ring hijinks or blatant outside interference, Reigns never defends the title cleanly. This is nothing new. Add in how The Usos have been acting and the heel version of The Bloodline could be back in full force very soon.
Compared to the WWE betting odds ahead of the first match at Backlash, the -500 price is a cheap price on Reigns as the favorite. As much as I would love to argue for Fatu, there’s just no way that anyone but Reigns will carry the designation of tribal chief.
WWE Betting Picks: Roman Reigns (-500)
Men’s Singles Match: Brock Lesnar vs. Oba Femi
Moneyline Odds to Win:
- Brock Lesnar: (-260)
- Oba Femi: (+170)
The first of two WrestleMania 42 rematches on the WWE Clash in Italy 2026 match card is a welcome addition for most. After suggesting a permanent retirement following his loss to Oba Femi in Las Vegas, Brock Lesnar shocked everyone with a return on RAW two weeks ago to deliver four F5s to “The Ruler”. That set the stage for Lesnar-Femi II in Italy.
From a WWE betting standpoint, the broader outlook for Lesnar must be considered. Given that he is now back in the fold, one has to believe that his eventual final match will ultimately take place at SummerSlam in his adopted home state of Minnesota. Whether that comes against Femi or someone else remains a mystery.
Regardless of that answer, Lesnar wouldn’t have come back just to lose to the same guy again. Frankly, I am shocked that the betting odds are only implying a 72% chance of victory for “The Beast Incarnate”. Whether it’s at SummerSlam or elsewhere this summer, a Lesnar victory is vital to setting up a trilogy match down the road between these two behemoths.
What’s more, given that Femi already picked up the WrestleMania win and has done nothing but dominate the RAW roster since, he can afford to take a loss here. His path to stardom is already solidified.
WWE Betting Picks: Brock Lesnar (-260)
WWE Women’s Championship Match: Rhea Ripley (c) vs. Jade Cargill
Moneyline Odds to Win:
- Rhea Ripley: (-900)
- Jade Cargill: (+500)
This WrestleMania rematch was made official on SmackDown last Friday night prior to the Saturday Night’s Main Event card in Fort Wayne. The expected result for the six-women tag team match then transpired. Jade Cargill ducked out of the ring to avoid an early confrontation with Rhea Ripley but would later secure the pinfall victory for her team.
Cargill has had no one but Ripley in her sights since reemerging on SmackDown programming a number of weeks after losing the championship at ‘Mania. While having the heel reclaim her spot atop the women’s division on Friday nights makes some sense from a storyline standpoint, it seems unlikely that it will happen in Italy.
At 5-1 odds, Cargill is the biggest betting underdog on the WWE Clash in Italy 2026 match card. A loss here would simply delegitimize Ripley’s superstar status. With plenty of other potential future challengers for the belt, a retention should be expected. The real question for me will be what the booking direction looks like for Cargill after the defeat.
WWE Betting Picks: Rhea Ripley (-900)
Women’s Intercontinental Championship Match: Becky Lynch (c) vs. Sol Ruca
Moneyline Odds to Win:
- Becky Lynch: (+150)
- Sol Ruca: (-200)
What a mess the first matchup between Becky Lynch and Sol Ruca was at Saturday Night’s Main Event. First it was billed as a title match, then it wasn’t. Once the bell rang itself, the match felt way too short and the commentators couldn’t figure out who was actually disqualified. Sol Ruca was ultimately declared the winner after Lynch pulled the referee into the fray to force the DQ.
With Ruca picking up the win last week as expected, we now get the anticipated rematch with Lynch’s Women’s Intercontinental Championship on the line. Admittedly, I’m a bit surprised that the challenger is priced as the favorite to win the belt on the WWE Clash in Italy 2026 match card.
Ruca is clearly a superstar that the WWE would love to elevate sooner rather than later. This match in Italy will be just her fourth since making the jump from NXT to RAW. The DQ victory over Lynch last Saturday marks her only win in the previous three, although she has been competing against some of the best in the women’s division immediately.
The fact that Lynch has previously dropped the IC title to the likes of Maxxine Dupri suggests that Ruca definitely has a shot. We’ll side with the upstart favorite who would benefit greatly from the push.
WWE Betting Picks: Sol Ruca (-200)
