It seems hard to believe that we are already three weeks removed from WrestleMania 42. The fallout from the biggest wrestling show of the year will continue this Saturday in Tampa at WWE Backlash. From a build standpoint, one could argue that Backlash has far outpaced WrestleMania in the lead-up to the event.
With two championship matches, a blockbuster singles collision and one of the most talked-about mystery storylines in recent memory, there is plenty of reason to tune in to the card. As is always the case with professional wrestling, understanding the narrative direction of each feud is just as important as the matchup itself when it comes to making informed betting decisions and predictions.
Let’s break down the full WWE Backlash 2026 match card, complete with betting odds and predictions for every match on the card.

WWE Backlash 2026 Match Card, Betting Odds and Predictions
All WWE Backlash betting odds are taken from BetUS Sportsbook.
World Heavyweight Championship Match: Roman Reigns (c) vs. Jacob Fatu
Moneyline Odds to Win:
- Roman Reigns: (-900)
- Jacob Fatu: (+500)
Roman Reigns is back on top of the mountain, and his first defense of the World Heavyweight Championship comes against a familiar bloodline. This time around, it will be Jacob Fatu doing battle against The Tribal Chief to kick off his reign. A victory reasserts Reigns’ dominance over the rest of the Samoan family and could help spawn greater unity beneath him, much like his victory over Jey Uso years ago.
To his credit, Fatu has leaned further into his heel character heading into Backlash, playing the role of a desperate man who wants what comes with being a champion in WWE. That said, the betting case here is straightforward. Does anyone seriously expect Reigns to drop the title less than a month after defeating CM Punk at WrestleMania? Oddsmakers don’t, and neither do I.
The more interesting question surrounding this match may not be who wins, but who gets involved. Interference could come from The Usos, or from Solo Sikoa and whatever remains of The MFT. Reigns himself alluded to consequences for Fatu’s actions on a recent episode of RAW, which raises the possibility that a loss here could actually draw Fatu closer to the champion rather than push him away. The fallout figures to be more compelling than the match outcome itself.
WWE Betting Picks: Roman Reigns (-900)
United States Championship Match: Trick Williams (c) vs. Sami Zayn
Moneyline Odds to Win:
- Trick Williams: (-900)
- Sami Zayn: (+500)
After losing the United States Championship to Trick Williams last month, Sami Zayn gets his rematch at WWE Backlash. Readers may recall that I picked Zayn to retain at WrestleMania, banking on the two completing their respective character flips in full. That didn’t come to fruition. In the weeks since, Williams has looked more and more like a face while Zayn continues to tease a full-blown heel turn without fully committing.
Knowing full well that I could be wrong again, we’re going back to the well. For Zayn to complete his turn, he needs to stoop to low levels with gold on the line — and Backlash presents the perfect stage for that. He’s been drawing consistent boos on SmackDown for weeks without fully earning them yet which makes for awkward programming. A title win through underhanded means would crystallize the character shift in one moment.
The counterargument is legitimate: a short first main roster title reign wouldn’t be ideal for Williams, and that alone gives pause. But at 5-1 odds, there’s no harm in taking a shot on the wrong man doing the right thing for his character.
One final note — RIP to the Gingerbread Man. Whatever direction that gimmick could have gone, it deserved a longer run. Gone too soon.
WWE Betting Picks: Sami Zayn (+500)
Men’s Singles Match: Seth Rollins vs. Bron Breakker
Moneyline Odds to Win:
- Seth Rollins: (-105)
- Bron Breakker: (-135)
Of all the bouts on the WWE Backlash 2026 match card, this one carries the most unpredictable odds. Bron Breakker returned from injury to cost Seth Rollins his match against Gunther at WrestleMania, and now the two are finally set to settle battle one-on-one — the latest chapter in a rivalry that began when Breakker dethroned Rollins as the leader of The Vision, RAW’s dominant faction, last year.
Despite the near even-money lines, this feels like a must-win situation for Breakker. A loss would undercut his build as a main event player. It would also stall the storyline of Rollins seeking revenge against the faction he created. Backlash feels way too soon for that, and I would anticipate Rollins and Breakker going head-to-head at least one more time this year.
The absence of Logan Paul and Austin Theory from this card also raises the interference question. WWE has gone out of its way to establish that Rollins has few allies left in the RAW locker room — which may be deliberate foreshadowing that a lack of backup leads to his downfall in Tampa.
WWE Betting Picks: Bron Breakker (-135)
Men’s Tag Team Match: Danhausen and Mystery Partner vs. The Miz and Kit Wilson
Moneyline Odds to Win:
- Danhausen & Mystery Partner: (-5000)
- The Miz & Kit Wilson: (+1200)
At the time of writing, who will be Danhausen’s mystery partner remains one of the more compelling unanswered questions heading into Backlash. Any number of names could make sense, and the betting odds for the partner market don’t exactly align with the speculation and rumors circulating online — which only adds to the intrigue.
The outcome of the match itself is a different story. Danhausen is a massive favorite to keep his undefeated WWE record intact, and rightfully so. He has consistently gotten the better of The Miz and Kit Wilson throughout this feud, and there is little reason to expect that changes in Tampa.
As has been the case with everything Danhausen has done since joining the company, the entertainment value figures to be high. Here’s hoping WWE uses the moment to inject some life into what has become a badly depleted SmackDown tag team division.
WWE Betting Picks: Danhausen & Mystery Partner (-5000)
Women’s Singles Match: Iyo Sky vs. Asuka
Moneyline Odds to Win:
- Iyo Sky: (-900)
- Asuka: (+500)
Once upon a time, it appeared as though Iyo Sky and Asuka were destined to share a WrestleMania moment. That never came to fruition, and Kairi Sane — who sat at the center of the friction between these two — was among the recent roster cuts.
Despite Sane being out of the picture, Sky and Asuka are finally set to settle their differences at Backlash. Two weeks ago, Asuka cost Sky a victory in her Women’s Intercontinental Championship match against Becky Lynch. This past RAW, general manager Adam Pearce sat the two down to air their grievances and made the match official. Asuka would once again gain the upper hand — spraying her mist in Sky’s face on the way out.
Despite Asuka carrying the momentum, it’s hard to envision anything other than a Sky victory here. Having absorbed multiple recent losses — including a clean pinfall against Jade Cargill prior to WrestleMania — this is a prime spot for Sky to reestablish herself as a legitimate singles contender. A win at Backlash also opens the door to a potential clash with Liv Morgan for the Women’s World Championship later this year, which feels like a program worth building toward.
WWE Betting Picks: Iyo Sky (-900)
