Ohio State was able to knock off Loyola Chicago in the first round thanks to the Ramblers putting together one of their worst shooting performances of the season. The Buckeyes were nothing special either as they shot just 6% from deep. That kind of shooting will simply not cut it against a team as good as Villanova.
After starting out slow against Delaware in the first round, the Wildcats exploded late in the first half and never looked back. Villanova shot over 50% from the field and 46% from long range. Once the Wildcats found their rhythm, there was nothing stopping them from cruising to an easy victory.
With Ohio State’s offensive consistency being a major problem as of late, the Buckeyes will need to get it together if they want a spot in the Sweet 16. Villanova is an experienced and disciplined team that will not beat themselves. It should be a close game but I expect Villanova to cover thanks to their solid free throw shooting down the stretch of games.
