FlurrySports gives the best Underdog Fantasy NFL DFS picks for the Bills vs Jaguars NFL Playoffs Wild Card Weekend game, including Travis Etienne.
Sunday of Wild Card Weekend kicks off with a matchup between the sixth-seeded Buffalo Bills and the third-seeded Jacksonville Jaguars. As we enter the first round of the NFL Playoffs, no team in the NFL has been playing as good of football as the Jaguars. They come in on a seven-game win streak, with Trevor Lawrence and Liam Cohen both hitting their strides. For Buffalo, it appears that Josh Allen will have a little more help than usual as the Bills’ rushing attack has been top-notch this season.
When looking to break down this game for NFL DFS picks, it appears that both teams will be relatively healthy, as there are no household names that are in danger of missing this game. The only issue on the injury report is their starting tackle, Cole Van Lanen, missing practice on Wednesday. Using Underdog Fantasy, I looked through the projections for all of the available players in this game and picked my favorite three NFL DFS picks.

Underdog Fantasy NFL DFS Picks: Bills vs Jaguars NFL Playoffs
Josh Allen HIGHER 36.5 Rushing Yards
Josh Allen and the Buffalo Bills once again find themselves in the NFL Playoffs, looking to finally get over that hump and come away with a Super Bowl. The only issue is that, excluding James Cook, it looks like the Bills once again failed to put proper support, at least in the pass game, around Allen to help him out. That is why Allen leads off our Wild Card Weekend Underdog Fantasy NFL DFS picks. We know that when it gets to crunch time in NFL games, Allen feels more comfortable keeping the ball in his own hands. That has led him to go higher than this projection in nine out of 13 playoff games in his career.
There is also a scenario where the Jaguars get up in this game, and the Bills are playing from behind. Jacksonville is coming into the game scoring 23 or more points in 10 straight games. If the Bills were to find themselves down early in this game, it seems more likely that Allen is going to take matters into his own hands, rather than keep relying on the rest of his mediocre skill players to help him out.
Travis Etienne HIGHER 12.5 Receiving Yards
Coming into the season, it was yet to be seen if Travis Etienne had what it took to be a running back for the future in Jacksonville. Etienne more than proved that, as he put together his best season as a pro. Now, he gets his first crack at parlaying that success into the NFL Playoffs. What works in Etienne’s favor in this game is that the Bills have struggled against opposing running backs. On top of that, the Bills have been great against opposing tight ends. That basically means that Etienne will be able to work in both the rushing and receiving game, as he is probably going to have to fill that underneath threat to help open the deep part of the field if Brenton Strange is neutralized.
The Jaguars may also be without starting tackle Cole Van Lanen, who injured his knee in Jacksonville’s Week 18 victory over the Titans. Without Van Lanen, Jacksonville will need to shift its game plan, as Joey Bosa and Greg Rousseau will have an easier time getting to Lawrence. To help avoid this, Lawrence will need to use Etienne as a dump-off player to get the ball out of his hands quickly. Given Etienne’s prowess at running after the catch, he can certainly get 13 receiving yards on one play. Etienne has gone higher than this line in 10 out of 17 games this season.
Matt Milano HIGHER 6.5 Assists + Tackles
As I have made clear in this article, the Jacksonville Jaguars are one of the hottest teams in the NFL right now and have one of the strongest offensive attacks. With Trevor Lawrence playing like Josh Allen, Buffalo will need a strong game from their front seven to avoid going down big in this game. Matt Milano is a key factor in stopping that attack. Milano, who has gone higher than this line in each of Buffalo’s last three games, should have the assignment of stuffing Etienne in the run game and shutting down the underneath passing attack.
Even with his injuries in each of the past two seasons, Milano is still expected to be a top contributor for this Bills defense and is a player that they need to perform at the top of his game if they want to win a Super Bowl. With Jacksonville ranking in the top five in time of possession this season, Milano will likely be on the field more than Buffalo would prefer, giving him that many more opportunities to go higher than this line.
