While the NFL MVP award essentially goes to the best quarterback on a contending team, the Super Bowl MVP award has a better opportunity to be won by a different position. For example, a wide receiver has won in two of the past five years. So, who do the 2024 Super Bowl MVP odds favor?

Three of the past five Super Bowl MVPs have been given to quarterbacks, with Patrick Mahomes winning two of them. The 2024 Super Bowl MVP odds favor Mahomes to win it again, but Brock Purdy is close behind.

Patrick Mahomes Super Bowl MVP Odds

The Patrick Mahomes Super Bowl MVP odds make him the favorite to win the awards, at +135 per BetUS Sportsbook. This is for good reason, as Mahomes has won half of the Super Bowl MVP awards over the past four seasons. Of course, if the Chiefs win the Super Bowl, it would be tough to imagine a scenario where someone else wins it. Hell, he didn’t pass for 200 yards last year and he still won it.

Brock Purdy Super Bowl MVP Odds

At +250, the Brock Purdy Super Bowl MVP odds list him as the favorite to win the award from the San Francisco 49ers and the second-best odds overall. Of course, the quarterback from the winning team has the best chance to win the award, so the fact that the 49ers are favored to win gives Purdy a great chance. The storyline of Mr. Irrelevant becoming Super Bowl MVP in only a couple of years is also like a movie.

Christian McCaffrey Super Bowl MVP Odds

Many would say that the NFL MVP candidate from the San Francisco 49ers this year was running back Christian McCaffrey. While it’s tough for a non-quarterback to win the regular-season MVP, McCaffrey’s Super Bowl MVP odds (+400) show it is definitely in play for him to win this award. He is the best skill position player on this offense. Including the playoffs, CMC failed to find the end zone in only three games this season. He found paydirt multiple times in seven different games. This is the type of performance that will be needed for a non-QB to win the MVP.

Travis Kelce Super Bowl MVP Odds

While the Travis Kelce Super Bowl MVP odds view him as a longshot for the award (+1400), he is as dominant of a postseason player as there has been in the NFL. He is also just as big of a star, if not bigger, than the other players mentioned above, and the Taylor Swift factor certainly puts this in play. Kelce has 19 touchdowns in his past 16 playoff games, which includes a passing touchdown. He also has scored a touchdown in two of his three Super Bowl appearances.
