Nashville Fairgrounds Speedway Track Information

Located near downtown Nashville, Nashville Fairgrounds Speedway opened in 1904. The track was all dirt, hosting horse and motorcycle races for the first 53 years of its life. In 1958, the track owners decided to pave the track and make it a .596-mile track. In that same year, the NASCAR Cup Series came to town and held a race at the track. Unfortunately, 1984 would be the last time the Cup Series held a race on the little over half-mile track. The Xfinity Series (then Busch Series) and Truck Series would continue to have races at the track until 2000.

The new Millenium would cause the end of the NASCAR and Nashville Fairgrounds Speedway partnership. NASCAR wants to come back to the track, but it would need to make a lot of upgrades for them and there has been a lot of pushback from locals about the track. SRX Racing didn’t care and held the final race of their 2021 season in Nashville.

Chase Elliott picked up the win and Tony Stewart won the SRX Championship. This year, the track will host the fourth race of the SRX season and be the final of the paved tracks for their season.
