We have three weeks remaining in the NFL regular season, so every game is crucial for at least half of the teams. The contenders are separating themselves from the pack, then there is a tier of about 15 teams that are inconsistent at best. Let’s see how all of these teams are ranked below in the Week 16 NFL Power Rankings.
The 32 teams below are ranked both on where they stand and where they are projected to go. This means that the injuries of today do play a major factor. The NFL is a short season and every loss matters.
With that being said, let’s jump into the Week 16 NFL Power Rankings!
NFL Power Rankings For Week 16
1) San Francisco 49ers (Last Week: 1)
The San Francisco 49ers continue to be the most dominant team in the NFL, and they retain the top spot in the Week 16 NFL Power Rankings. As always, this is a terrific team when all of their playmakers are healthy. However, we have seen how this team struggles when they lose a couple of these players. Certainly, they cannot take their foot off of the gas, but 49ers’ top priority must be getting to the playoffs healthy.
This week, the 49ers have a true test against a team we have long called a Super Bowl contender.
2) Baltimore Ravens (2)
The Baltimore Ravens continue to win games, and they also continue to suffer injuries to their backfield. Regardless, this is the healthiest this team has been in years, and the product on the field shows. The offense is figuring itself out, and they sport one of the top defenses in the league. This week, the Ravens have a “measuring stick” game against the 49ers.
3) Philadelphia Eagles (3)
Yes, the Philadelphia Eagles lost once again last week. And yes, the Eagles are a lesser team than last season and there are reasons for concern. However, I don’t currently see enough of a reason to drop them further in the NFL Power Rankings, and perhaps this should show us how top-heavy the league currently is. The Eagles’ offensive line and defense are worse than last season, but the offense overall can still do enough to be a tough team in a month.
4) Kansas City Chiefs (4)
As I said last week, the Kansas City Chiefs will win the remainder of their regular season games. They beat the Patriots last week, despite it not being an overly inspiring performance. Regardless, the Chiefs are slowly but surely getting better on offense. Now, they need to establish the run, and the offense should be good enough to complement what has been a talented defense this season. Don’t be surprised if the Chiefs rise in the NFL Power Rankings before the end of the season.
5) Dallas Cowboys (5)
We said that the Dallas Cowboys needed to prove that they could play well on the road, especially against another talented team. They had the perfect opportunity in Buffalo this past week, and they failed miserably.
Supposedly, there was an illness that was going through the Dallas locker room. Regardless, they didn’t show up against the Bills, getting bullied in every facet of the game. Hopefully, Zack Martin will be okay on the offensive line. The Cowboys are still fine, but they clearly have their red flags.

6) Miami Dolphins (6)
No Tyreek Hill, no problem. The Miami Dolphins dominated the New York Jets and possibly ruined Aaron Rodgers‘ chance at a return. The defense came to play, though it certainly could have been a product of the matchup. The Dolphins will show us who they really are through these final three games, as they face the Cowboys, Ravens and Bills.
7) Buffalo Bills (7)
The Buffalo Bills may be peaking at the right time. While they are certainly one of the 10 best teams in the league and a top-10 team in our NFL Power Rankings, they are not yet in the NFL Playoffs. However, there is a strong belief that the current trend will land them in the dance. The offense has found a running game to balance out Josh Allen, so this offense could be a scary one down the stretch.
8) Detroit Lions (8)
The Detroit Lions returned to form this week by completely dismantling the Denver Broncos. The Lions remain one of the top teams in the NFC, but they need to keep Jared Goff‘s pocket clean on offense. On defense, they need to just keep their heads above water and not give up the big play. Hopefully, the Lions go after another pass rusher this offseason.
9) Cleveland Browns (10)
The Cleveland Browns barely beat the Chicago Bears, but the Bears have been playing much better recently and the way Cleveland came back was impressive. Joe Flacco showed a bit of rust, but again, the comeback against a solid Bears defense was impressive. Despite all of the major injuries, the Browns continue to be one of the most consistent teams in the NFL.
10) Jacksonville Jaguars (9)
The Jacksonville Jaguars continue to be less than impressive, and now they may be without Trevor Lawrence for a bit. The offensive line has struggled, Lawrence has struggled, and the defense has really struggled. Jacksonville may or may not win the division, but it doesn’t really matter. The truth of the matter is that nobody is afraid of the Jaguars, and that’s an issue for a team that has one of the few quarterbacks that’s being looked at as the future of the franchise.
