It was a big day across the league as the NFL Free Agency period kicked off on Monday. Although the Dallas Cowboys had a bit of a slow start, here are the latest free agency updates for America’s Team. The defense should be the top priority for the Cowboys this free agency, but here is what we have seen so far.

Cowboys (Likely) Free Agency Farewell to Andy Dalton

One of the biggest question marks for the Dallas Cowboys this offseason was if Andy Dalton would return as the backup quarterback for a second season.

According to multiple reports on Twitter, it doesn’t seem like that will be the case during free agency. In fact, Dalton could be headed to Chicago. Reports said that the Bears organization have shown “significant interest” in the 33-year-old QB.

Other reports stated that the Cowboys are preparing to say their goodbyes to Dalton. In the meantime, nothing has become official yet, so his future is still questionable.

Dallas Cowboys are bracing to lose QB Andy Dalton in free agency, per source. Dallas believes he's got several teams that will either play him or give him a stronger chance to play significant snaps. Door's still open but that's the thinking right now.

League source on if the #Cowboys are interested in QB Andy Dalton returning: "If it works out, $." The source added, "Think he's entertaining other offers to start."

End of an Era, But Start of a New One

More reports came out on Monday stating that the the Cowboys agreed to a one-year deal with Rams LS Jake McQuaide.

This means the end of the L.P. Ladouceur era in Dallas. Keep in mind, Ladouceur was with the Cowboys of 16 seasons. It is unclear where or if Ladouceur will play in the NFL next season.

Cowboys have agreed to a one-year contract with Rams LS Jake McQuaide, source said. Plans to sign deal Wednesday, reuniting him w/ ST coordinator John Fassel. End of era: L.P. Ladouceur, who turned 40 Sunday, appeared in 253 games with Cowboys, two shy of Jason Witten's record.

WR Noah Brown Returns for Fourth Season

The Cowboys sealed the deal with WR Noah Brown on Monday. Reports say the three-year veteran signed a one-year deal.

Source: The Cowboys are re-signing WR Noah Brown to a one-year deal. He had a career-high 154 receiving yards last year while playing 228 offensive snaps and 217 special teams snaps, both also career-highs

Brown posted on Instagram before the news broke on his new deal, writing “Run it byke and bet the house.”

OL Cam Erving and LB Joe Thomas Dallas Departures

Dallas saw two departures, so far, during this free agency. One departure being OL Cam Erving who is, reportedly, working on a two-year deal with the Carolina Panthers. The other being LB Joe Thomas, who is reportedly working on a one-year deal with the Houston Texans.

    Multiple Day One Tenders

Dallas has placed tenders on two current restricted free agents. Those players being WR Cedrick Wilson and DT Antwaun Woods.

The saga of Antwaun Wood’s subtweets continued on Monday. So, this will be something to keep an eye on as the free agency period continues.
