We are officially less than two weeks away from the start of college football bowl games! including the College Football Playoff Semifinals, the 2022-23 bowl season schedule consists of 41 games. As such, there are a whopping 82 spots available for teams to partake in the postseason! The criteria for teams to become bowl eligible is simple: win at least six games during the regular season.

Regardless of whether a school is a member of a powerful league like the SEC, a mid-major league such as Conference USA, or playing as an FBS Independent without a conference affiliation, the six-win threshold remains consistent when it comes to earning the chance to play in one of the college football bowl games. Of course, the more games a team wins, the more likely the chances of being invited to a high-profile bowl game.
