After two games to get us back into the flow of the NBA regular season, the association returns in full force tonight with a ten-game slate. Among the notable matchups is an Eastern Conference showdown between the Boston Celtics and Brooklyn Nets. Both teams fancy themselves contenders this year and will look to start the second half of the season off on a winning note. The NBA betting odds offer a slight edge to the home team in this matchup.

Celtics vs Nets NBA Betting Overview
Celtics Outlook
The Celtics closed the first half of the NBA betting season red hot, winning their last four games ahead of the All-Star break. Whether they can carry that momentum over into a tough matchup tonight is another story. Boston continues to be carried by stars Jayson Tatum, Kemba Walker and Jalen Brown. However, it is worth wondering if Brown’s remarkable shooting percentage from the first half of the season can continue. The Celtics also have questions in the frontcourt. Despite looking like the best of the bunch, Robert Williams continues to play behind Daniel Theis and Tristan Thompson.
Celtics Injury Report
- Out: Romeo Langford (wrist)
Nets Outlook
Many believe the Nets to be legitimate contenders to win an NBA championship this year. Brooklyn won 10 of 11 games to close the first half of the season. The Nets also made headlines during the break by signing former All-Star Blake Griffin after he was bought out by the Detroit Pistons. Fans will have to wait at least one more game to see Griffin’s Brooklyn debut though. He and Kevin Durant have both been ruled out for tonight’s NBA betting contest while forward Jeff Green is questionable with a shoulder injury he sustained shortly before the All-Star break.
Nets Injury Report
- Out: Kevin Durant (hamstring), Blake Griffin (injury management)
- Doubtful: Timothe Luwawu-Cabarrot (knee)
- Questionable: Jeff Green (shoulder)

Celtics vs Nets Prop Bet
Kemba Walker Over 4.5 Assists (+110 at Bovada Sportsbook)
I must admit, I’m a little bit perplexed by the NBA betting line and NBA odds for total Kemba Walker assists in tonight’s game. Plus-money on the over for 4.5 seems like a great bet. Walker closed the first half of the season on a tear. He dished six or more assists in each of the Celtics’ final four games going into the All-Star break. Of course, the veteran point guard missed the only other head-to-head matchup against the Nets earlier this season as he continued his road back from a knee injury.
It’s no secret that Boston will have to score to keep pace tonight, even with Kevin Durant not available for Brooklyn. Look for Walker to be the clutch facilitator that he is and go over the NBA player props line of 4.5 assists.
