The NASCAR Cup Series returns to the Peach State this weekend for the annual running of the Quaker State 400. However, in stark contrast to previous years, this is the first time since 2010 that this race will be run at Atlanta Motor Speedway. After spending the entire past decade at Kentucky Speedway, the Quaker State 400 returns to its original track. Prior to that year, the event was 500 miles in length. Although it returns to Atlanta this season, it will keep the same 400-mile distance.

What About Atlanta’s Quaker State 400 Stats?
Young NASCAR betting enthusiasts and motorsports fans might not know that the Quaker State 400 actually used to be run at Atlanta Motor Speedway. The only caveat was that it was always a 500-mile race up until NASCAR moved it to Kentucky Speedway in 2010. So while we have to go back a full decade to find any actual race stats from its prior stint in Georgia, the numbers do exist!
Of course, there are also a whole lot of new faces in the NASCAR Cup Series that weren’t around back in 2010. One driver who was, however, is Kurt Busch. The elder Busch brother claimed each of the last two editions of this race at Atlanta Motor Speedway in 2009 and 2010. He drove to back-to-back victories in a Team Penske Dodge in what was known then as the Kobalt Tools 500. Add in Brad Keselowski’s three Quaker State 400 wins at Kentucky and the No. 2 car has won this race five times in the last 12 years. Now THAT is a NASCAR betting fun fact!
Then there’s Kurt’s younger brother, Kyle Busch, who won the same race in 2008 driving the same Joe Gibbs Racing Toyota that he operates today. Add in his two wins at Kentucky and Kyle has also won this race on three occasions. But when it comes to wins in this race back in the Atlanta days, Kurt Busch is the only active driver with multiple victories. Chevrolet leads all manufacturers in race wins at Atlanta with 17 followed by Ford with 13. Kyle Busch’s 2008 victory was the only one for what was still a new Toyota NASCAR Cup Series venture at the time.
