The Green Bay Packers lost to the Minnesota Vikings at home in Week 8, which is an inexcusable loss, given the state of the Minnesota team. Offseason weaknesses were exposed, due to the front office’s refusal to address these needs. Now, we are a day ahead of the NFL trade deadline, and we sit praying and hoping for a Packers trade.
Clearly, the Packers have many needs on the defensive side of the football. However, they also still have a need at wide receiver, since drafting one would have made too much sense. With that in mind, these are three Packers trade targets at the wide receiver position.

Will Fuller, HOU
There were rumors last week that a Packers trade for Will Fuller was in the works. It is clearly a trade worth exploring, as speed kills defenses. Having a speedy wide receiver that is capable of running routes AND making a catch (what a concept) would make things that much easier for Davante Adams. Getting separation continues to be an issue for Green Bay, and it is not a problem for Fuller, as he has averaged 3.57 yards of separation at the catch this season.
Keelan Cole, JAX
Keelan Cole may not be the big name Packers trade target that fans hope for, but he is a solid receiver on an expiring contract. Operating mostly out of the slot for the Jacksonville Jaguars, Cole has done nothing but perform this season. He has totaled 40+ yards in five of his seven games, catching 28 passes for 374 yards and three touchdowns. Cole has also returned a few kicks this season, so having that skill set added on wouldn’t hurt.
Curtis Samuel, CAR
Let’s be optimists for a second. At 24 years old, Curtis Samuel is on an expiring contract. With many holes on the defensive side of the ball and two stud receivers ahead of Samuel, the Carolina Panthers may be unwilling to extend him. This is where Green Bay can step in and get a talented playmaker to target on underneath routes.
Through seven games, Samuel has 29 receptions for 262 yards and a touchdown. This is combined with his 91 rushing yards and two touchdowns. Quite simply, Samuel is a playmaker, and a Packer trade for him would completely open up this offense.
