Ty Simpson Highlights
Ty Simpson Scouting Report
Strengths
Ty Simpson rose to the occasion this past season, with some of his best games coming against good opponents. He both trusted his protection and had the responsibility to adjust his protection at the line of scrimmage.
Simpson has terrific fundamentals. His footwork is perfect, and his throwing mechanics are consistent. Simpson appears to recognize defensive coverages quickly, and he does a good job at working his way through progressions and hitting the easy throws.
Weaknesses
Despite several years in college, Simpson does not have much starting experience. As a result, there could be some growing pains. While his throwing mechanics are consistent, his arm talent is average. His accuracy downfield is not there, and it may not be a consistent part of his game.
One weakness of Simpson that will be very apparent early in his career is holding the ball too long. He may take too many sacks while waiting for the perfect throw, putting his health at risk and the team behind the chains.
Ty Simpson Fantasy Football Outlook
Simpson’s 2026 Value
I mean, slim to none, right? The Rams have the reigning NFL MVP returning at quarterback in Matthew Stafford. Thus, Simpson does not figure to even see the field barring an injury. This draft pick was all about securing the long-term future of the team at the game’s most important position. For redraft fantasy leagues, he is not on the draft radar.
Ty Simpson Dynasty Fantasy Football Value
Dynasty is where things get a little more interesting concerning Simpson. Given the capital that the Rams were willing to invest in him, his stock can only trend up from where it was entering the NFL Draft. Once viewed as a borderline first-round selection in rookie drafts, he figures to be less likely to fall to the second-round after this development. It remains to be seen how long Stafford has left, but Simpson could be the full-time starter for L.A. as soon as next season.
