The 2022 Superstar Racing Experience season is scheduled to begin this Saturday night on CBS. The series will again run a six-race schedule this summer on Saturday night and on CBS. The fans are in for a treat if this season is anything like last season. Some old faces in some new places coming over to SRX include Ryan Newman and Matt Kenseth. Read below for the part-time confirmed SRX racing drivers for the 2022 season.
Part-time SRX Racing Drivers
Helio Castroneves
The four-time Indy 500 champion returns to the SRX Racing Series for the second season. This time though, due to him being a full-time Indycar driver this season, he will drive at three races in South Boston, Stafford and Nashville Fairgrounds Speedway.
Josef Newgarden
The Penske driver who has won the 2017 and 2019 Indycar champion will make his SRX debut this season for one race. Newgarden will drive the 2 car at Nashville Fairgrounds Speedway.
Ernie Francis Jr
The race winner at IRP and second place points finisher in Ernie Francis Jr. will take a step back and only race in two races for the series this season. The Indy Lights season would’ve caused some contractual issues so for now he is listed to race at Five Flags Speedway and South Boston.
Tony Kaanan
Tony Kaanan will be racing every race for the SRX Racing Series except for the Stafford race. He hopes to do better than his best of seventh of last year.
Matt Kenseth
The 2003 NASCAR Cup Series Champion will drive in the SRX Series this season. Kenseth will drive the 8 car at Nashville Fairgrounds, I-55 and Sharon Speedways.
Bill Elliott
The 66-year-old will be getting behind the wheel again for another season of SRX racing. Million-dollar Bill will only do two races this season though as he will drive the 9 at Five Flags and Stafford Motor Speedway.
Chase Elliott
The NASCAR fan favorite will continue to do his one-off in the SRX series this season as he will drive the 9 car. This time he will race on the dirt of Sharon Speedway.
Ryan Blaney
Ryan Blaney will make his SRX Racing Series debut this season. He will be doing a one-off just like his friend Chase Elliott and will be racing his dad at Sharon Speedway.
Hailie Deegan
Hailie Deegan will be back in the SRX series this season. After filling in for TK last year and helping him get sixth in the points. This year though she will be earning her own points at Stafford Motor Speedway and I-55 Speedway.
Guest SRX Racing Drivers
Five Flags Speedway – Bubba Pollard
Bubba Pollard will be the guest driver for the first race of the SRX Series season after he had the best finish during the Pepperjack Kennel Twins at the track back in April.
South Boston Speedway – Peyton Sellers
Peyton Sellers has six South Boston track championships that earned him his spot in the field for the second race of the SRX Season.
Stafford Motor Speedway – Matt Hirschman
Matt Hirschman won the Spring Sizzler at the track earning his spot to race in SRX.
Nashville Fairgrounds Speedway – Cole Williams
Won a fan vote over Dylan Fetcho, Bubba Pollard, Brittney Zamora, Stephen Nasse and Michael House to get him his ride for the Nashville Fairgrounds race.
I-55 Speedway – Ken Schrader
The former NASCAR driver gets his shot in the SRX Series when he will get behind the wheel of the dirt track in Missouri.
Sharon Speedway – Dave Blaney
The Battle of the Blaneys will take place during the last race of the SRX Series season as Dave will take on his son Ryan.
