Projected Win Total

Cleveland’s over/under is currently at 8.5, after they went 6-10 last year. The Browns were Super Bowl darlings last year, before they played a single snap. They were featured on the cover of Sports Illustrated, and they were considered to be a lock for the playoffs and more. Everyone forgot the key factor — they were still the Browns. As Gerry Sandusky, the voice of the Baltimore Ravens, said on the Sports with Yosef podcast, “Somebody’s going to beat the Cleveland Browns this year, is it going to be another opponent or is it going to be the Cleveland Browns?”

Sandusky hit the nail on the head with that quote, and other analysts are seeing it his way. With an over/under at 8.5, the Browns will be in contention for the third wild card slot in the AFC.

If you’re a big believer in strength of schedule, the Browns are a must-draft team. What makes it slightly more challenging is the Browns have too much star power. Odell Beckham Jr., Jarvis Landry and Austin Hooper are the forefronts of their passing offense, but they have capable backups who will get playing time as well. Additionally, with a new head coach in Kevin Stefanski, the Browns will need a couple of weeks to get their act together with the shortened offseason. I like the talent level of the Browns, but it will be a week-by-week decision to start any of their pass catchers. Someone has to catch the touchdowns, but that will probably be influenced by the defensive matchups on any given week and play.

Browns Fantasy Running Game

RB: Nick Chubb, Kareem Hunt, Dontrell Hilliard
2019 OL Run Rank: 10th

Nick Chubb, the lead back for the Browns, is thought to be one of the top backs in the NFL. Some analysts have said that he IS the top back. Chubb is a great fantasy producer as well. He is currently being selected as RB10, and it would be higher, but he doesn’t get that many passes out of the backfield due to the talent outside and his teammate Kareem Hunt. The key point for Hunt is to look at the latest reports about him on draft day. As of now, Hunt is a great pick in the second half of the draft. He will not start, but he will be involved, especially as a receiving weapon out of the backfield. Still, Hunt is more of a flex play than a RB2.
