Well, it’s been quite the adventurous week for the Las Vegas Raiders. The offense still can’t score more than 21 points and Davante Adams and Jakobi Meyers had two total receptions. Then, head coach Josh McDaniels and general manager Dave Ziegler get fired on the very next night. It was then announced they had benched Jimmy Garoppolo for rookie Aidan O’Connell, which brought smiles to Davante Adams and Jakobi Meyers fantasy football owners.

Raiders Changes Mean Questionable Jakobi Meyers Fantasy Value

The Jakobi Meyers fantasy football value has been mostly consistent this season, with only two games this season where he scored fewer than six PPR points. Although one of those subpar performances came against the Chargers in Week 4, with now-starting quarterback Aidan O’Connell being at the helm, that can likely be attributed to the running game of Josh Jacobs and a focus on targeting Davante Adams. An important factor to consider is that the Giants’ defense has been struggling primarily against WR1s and not as much against WR2s. Over the past three games, no WR2 has managed to exceed 50 receiving yards or score a touchdown. A huge difference is that none of those wide receivers were able to score double-digit PPR fantasy points.

With the Raiders’ changes in the coaching staff and quarterback situation, I am majorly concerned about the Jakobi Meyers fantasy value. He had chemistry with Jimmy Garoppolo, and O’Connell did not target him as much. Plus, with McDaniels not coaching anymore, and making questionable decisions, this could lead to big games from Josh Jacobs and Davante Adams, who really need a bounce-back rest of the season. Jakobi Meyers will have to wait a bit for a more favorable situation to have fantasy relevance this week.
