Week 8 Fantasy Football Streamers at TE

Richard Rodgers, PHI (vs DAL)

Last week, there was nine different Eagles who caught a pass from Carson Wentz. Leading the pack was Richard Rodgers. He caught six balls for 85 yards. With this stat line, it seems likely that Rodgers is the go-to weapon for the Eagles’ offense. With the injuries on the offensive side of the ball, it looks like Wentz has some trust in the veteran tight end, which can set up a big fantasy week against a Dallas defense who has given up the sixth-most points to opposing tight ends this season. With Dallas Goedert scheduled to come back soon, this seems like a game where Rodgers can prove that he deserves to be a part in the offense. It often seems that Philadelphia passes end in Wentz scrambling around looking for an open receiver, something that Rodgers thrived at when he was in Green Bay.

Look for Rodgers to be the safety blanket and churn out a solid week for your fantasy team. He is a no-brainer pick among the Week 8 fantasy football streamers.

Dalton Schultz, DAL (vs PHI)

Dalton Schultz was supposed to be “the guy” at tight end for the Dallas Cowboys. After a lackluster couple of weeks, it seems many people have moved on from Schultz, as proved by only being owned in 33% of ESPN leagues. If there is going to be a week for Schultz to get back on track, this is it. Philadelphia has been bad against tight ends this season, opening the door for Schultz to have a big game. With Dallas’ talented receiving corps and stud running back, it seems like Schultz will be forgotten about. This leaves Schultz available to work the middle of the field to serve as a safety blanket for whoever is starting at quarterback this week for the Cowboys.

If Ezekiel Elliott can get back on track this week, which I think he will, that opens up so many more plays for Kellen Moore’s offense. They would be able to run play action, tight end-featured routes for high efficient passes, making Schultz a streamer candidate.

Harrison Bryant, CLE (vs LV)

There is a new tight end in Cleveland and his name is Harrison Bryant. With Austin Hooper, Odell Beckham Jr. and Jarvis Landry all dealing with injuries and David Njoku likely on the move, it seems inevitable that Bryant will see an abundance of targets this week. With a good matchup against the Raiders, it makes sense that Baker Mayfield will try to continue to develop a rapport with Bryant after his 4-56-2 line last week. With all of the uncertainty for the Browns’ skill positions, the one uncertainty is Bryant, who is young, healthy and athletic. Look for Mayfield to target the 6-5, 240-pound tight end out of Florida Atlantic numerous times this week.
