With the NFL trade deadline coming on Tuesday, Nov. 3rd, the rumors of player movement are at an all-time high. Recently, Will Fuller trade rumors have been in the headlines, with multiple teams reportedly interested. With the Houston Texans looking to rebuild quickly, it’s more than likely that the team trades Fuller while he is healthy.
Here are the three most likely Will Fuller trade destinations as we approach the NFL trade deadline.
While multiple teams were rumored to be calling about Fuller, the Green Bay Packers were the first team actually named. With fans and Aaron Rodgers alike expressing interest in bringing in a competent receiving weapon to pair alongside Davante Adams, this move makes perfect sense.
A player with blazing speed, like Fuller, is also useful for the overall Packers identity, which is setting up play action with a strong running game. Defenses must respect Fuller’s speed, putting a safety on his side of the field. Should the Packers split Adams and Fuller, defenses would need to respect both players, creating lighter boxes for Aaron Jones to run on. It makes sense why Fuller is a Packers trade target.
The New England Patriots have been in need of a competent outside receiver that can stretch the field for some time now. Fuller is more than capable of filling this role. While the Patriots may not be competing for a playoff spot this season, they need to begin taking steps towards improving this receiving corps, no matter who is throwing the ball next season. Aside from Julian Edelman’s 179-yard game, there has been nothing impressive about these wide receivers, and N’Keal Harry is the only one to catch a touchdown through seven weeks.
At 2-4-1, the Philadelphia Eagles are in the driver’s seat of the NFC East. While this may be pathetic, it also means that nothing up until now really matters for Philadelphia. It’s all about how they perform in the second half of this season.
The injuries suffered to their receiving corps over the past couple seasons have been notable. The same can be said in 2020. Still, if the Eagles are able to field two or three reliable weapons for Carson Wentz each week, it is their division to lose. Making a move for Fuller would assist in doing this, and it would also be on brand for Philly to bring in an injury-prone wide receiver.
