Week 6 NFL DFS Picks for FanDuel

Quarterbacks

Lamar Jackson ($8,200)

As Lamar Jackson played on Monday night, his salary didn’t factor in his MVP caliber outing against the Colts. This week he gets a date with the 4-1 Chargers in a game that holds the second-highest total of the main slate (51.0). The Chargers are coming off a shootout win against the Browns as their defense allowed 42 points and 527 yards. With Jackson’s and Mark Andrews’ salaries both discounted, they are my favorite stack for both GPPs and cash games.

Joe Burrow ($7,400)

Joe Burrow lands on this column for a second straight week as he gets a mouth-watering matchup against the Lions. After suffering a throat contusion last weekend, Burrow is good to go this week in a game that should lean heavily on both offenses. Picking on the Lions’ defense is a normal day at the office for DFS players, although they’ve primarily been beaten by the run as of late. If the game script can lean Burrow’s way, he can be in for a big fantasy day.

Other NFL DFS Options: Patrick Mahomes ($9,000), Taylor Heinicke ($7,300), Mac Jones ($6,500)

Running Backs

Kareem Hunt ($7,400)

With so many running backs injured this week, there is no reason to waste your money spending up at the position. Kareem Hunt will intake a massive workload this game, with Nick Chubb already ruled out. In the past, Hunt has been a surefire RB1 when playing without Chubb (19.0 touches/game) in this elite rushing offense. In a matchup against a Cardinals’ defense allowing the fourth-most rushing yards in the league, Hunt will absolutely feast.

Darrell Henderson ($7,300)

Every week in DFS, it seems like we are trying to decide how to get exposure to this electric Rams offense. Cooper Kupp is always priced high, Robert Woods has been inconsistent and Van Jefferson doesn’t see enough volume. Darrell Henderson has been a model of consistency this year and he is priced as a mid-tier running back this week. He should get plenty of rushing attempts this week as the Rams are 8.0 point favorites against the Giants and their soft run defense.

Darrel Williams ($5,200)

Darrel Williams is the running back first in line for touches with Edwards-Helaire set to miss multiple weeks. Although he has never handled a full workload, Williams will handle a fair share of touches in a game holding the highest total of the slate (54.5). The Chiefs RB only costs a measly $5,200 to roster, which seems wrong given the offense he is in. Williams will warrant heavy ownership and under these circumstances, he will be extremely hard to fade.

Other NFL DFS Options: Jonathan Taylor ($7,500), D’Andre Swift ($7,100), Joe Mixon ($7,000), Khalil Herbert ($5,500)

Wide Receivers

Davante Adams ($8,500)

It seems like Davante Adams’ 200+ yard game against the Bengals went unnoticed by the NFL community. He deservingly leads the league with a 37.9% target share and has proven to be a matchup-proof wide receiver. Even in a tougher environment against the Bears’ stout defense, Adams’ usage makes him a play in DFS. FanDuel is gonna have to price Adams higher than that for one to even consider fading him.

D.J. Moore ($7,600)

D.J. Moore’s breakout campaign took a backseat in Week 5 as he totaled 42 total yards on five receptions. Despite this outlier, Moore is still ninth-best with 440 receiving yards on the season. This week, Moore gets a matchup with Vikings’ cornerback Breshad Breeland, someone we’re used to picking on. Mix Moore’s 73.7% catch rate with Breeland’s 77% catch rate allowed, and you have a recipe for a breakout game.

Tee Higgins ($6,400)

Last week, I wrote about Ja’Marr Chase who exploded in a game against the Packers. This week it’s his fellow wideout Tee Higgins that I’m recommending. With Chase’s salary trending higher and higher, Higgins is looking like an appealing value option. After returning from injury, Higgins only played 69.7% of snaps last weekend, a number that should surely rise this weekend. He is a strong stacking option with Burrow for those who decide not to break the bank for Chase.

Michael Pittman Jr.

Michael Pittman Jr. added to his highlight reel on Monday night when he went over the top of cornerback Anthony Averett for a long touchdown. He is an interesting pick as he sees consistent volume from Carson Wentz, despite being in a below-average offense. Playing against a mediocre Texans’ defense, MPJ can provide salary relief at only $5,800.

Other NFL DFS Options: Tyreek Hill ($8,700), Terry McLaurin ($7,400), Brandin Cooks ($6,500), Amari Cooper ($6,800), Jakobi Meyers ($5,800)

Tight Ends

Mark Andrews ($6,300)

As mentioned earlier in this piece, Mark Andrews and Lamar Jackson are both softly priced after popping off on Monday night football. Mark Andrews gets a golden matchup against a Chargers secondary that was lit up by David Njoku of all people. Andrews is now second among all tight ends with a target share of 23.9%, making him a strong play alongside Jackson. Look for the tight end to continue his momentum in what should be a high-scoring game against the Chargers.

Ricky Seals-Jones ($5,000)

If you’re looking for a punt play at tight end this week, look no further than Ricky Seals-Jones. With Logan Thomas placed on IR, RSJ had nine targets in a Washington offense that loves to use its tight ends. In a matchup against the Chiefs, Heinicke will air the ball out to catch up to Mahomes, so look for Seals-Jones to get similar volume this weekend. Kansas City will focus on stopping Terry McLaurin so someone else will need to make plays for this Washington offense.

Other NFL DFS Options: Travis Kelce ($8,500), Darren Waller ($7,000), Hunter Henry ($5,600)
