After an exciting first weekend football, we have another solid college football betting slate in Week 2 of the season. One of the more high-profile matchups is between the Washington Huskies and Michigan Wolverines. Washington dropped their opener, while Michigan won and look like they have a team.
Let’s take a look at this Washington vs Michigan matchup from a college betting perspective, including odds and picks.
Washington vs Michigan College Football Betting Odds and Picks For Week 2
Washington (0-1) vs Michigan (1-0)
Date: Saturday, September 11th, 2021
Time: 8:00 PM ET
Venue: Michigan Stadium — Ann Arbor, MI
Coverage: ABC
Ss well as last weekend went for Michigan, the same cannot be said for the Huskies. On Saturday, Washington lost to FCS Montana, a team that hadn’t been on the field in two years thanks to the COVID pandemic. While the Huskies probably win that game 98 out of 100 times, we shouldn’t take anything away from the Grizzlies. Huskies quarterback Dylan Morris was very poor, throwing three interceptions. The Sam Huard era might start sooner than Washington would have liked. The Huskies defense remained solid the entire game. Getting off the field on third downs was huge for them. On top of that, they totaled six tackles for loss last week.
Last Saturday, the Michigan Wolverines, and head coach Jim Harbaugh, gave their fans what they hoped for in Week 1. The Wolverines took down a talented Western Michigan team, 47-14. However, will it really matter as much if they can’t beat the Buckeyes in November? Well, that’s a question for a Michigan fan. Wolverine quarterback Cade McNamara was 9-11 on the day for 136 yards and two touchdowns. Unfortunately, the Wolverines have lost All-Big Ten wide receiver Ronnie Bell for the season after an injury. The Michigan defense is always solid, but be on the look out for Aidan Hutchingson. He could have made the jump to the NFL last year but stayed back to get more experience. He’s a force in the trenches.

Spread: WASH +7 (-115) | MICH -7 (-105)
Total: 48.5 — Over (-110) | Under (-110)
Washington vs Michigan College Football Picks
Michigan 23, Washington 17 (Washington +7, Under 48.5)
This should be a hard fought battle between two sides coming in after completely different Week 1. As stated earlier, the Michigan offense was good, and they were able to move the ball. However, the loss of Ronnie Brown was a tough one for Harbaugh and co. On defense, I expect Aidan Hutchingson to have at least a sack and tackle for loss.
For Washington, the worst just keeps getting worse. After losing a shocker at home in Week 1, they now have to travel across the country to take on the Wolverines. Will head coach Jimmy Lake decide to make the change to freshman quarterback Sam Huard? It’s a possibility. However, in all honesty, it’s impossible to tell what kind of mindset the Huskies will show on Saturday. If they can just get a spark plug on offense, this team can easily take down the Wolverines.
However, the official college football betting picks is Michigan to win, with Washington to cover the spread.
