In one of the more evenly-matched NFL betting matchups of the weekend, the Minnesota Vikings travel to take on the Carolina Panthers. Both teams have been playing without their star running backs, though one is expected to make his return to the field on Sunday. Will that be the edge in this game?

The Vikings enter this game off a win, though it came against a damaged Detroit Lions team. Minnesota is a bit healthier this week, however, with Dalvin Cook expected to return to the lineup. This helps to create a bit more balance on this offense, though their focus has to be slowing down the pass rush of Carolina. If the Vikings can keep the pressure off Kirk Cousins, they have a great shot to win. Defensively, they need to be the ones getting pressure.
In short, this game will likely come down to which team’s pass rush can get home.
For Carolina, they expected to get Christian McCaffrey back this week, after he pushed to play last week. Unfortunately, it appears he suffered a setback and will be out again this week. Still, they have plenty of weapons on offense. They just need Sam Darnold to play better. He was looking closer to his Jets’ self last week, which they must figure out quickly. Defensively, this Panthers’ team is rock solid and will make plays on Sunday.
