Week 8 of the NFL season kicks off on Thursday night with an interesting matchup between the Baltimore Ravens and Tampa Bay Buccaneers. While the Ravens have won two of their last three, it has hardly come easily. Meanwhile, the sky has been falling of late in Tampa Bay. Can anyone recall the last time Tom Brady lost three games in a row? It very well could happen in what should be a compelling Ravens vs Buccaneers TNF matchup. For fans looking to have some stake of their own in the game, the NFL DFS picks on Underdog Fantasy make for a tremendous option!
The following article provides a brief intro to the phenomenal Underdog Fantasy platform and offers up a handful of DFS picks and NFL player props to consider for the Ravens vs Buccaneers Thursday Night Football matchup.
What is Underdog Fantasy?
Underdog Fantasy might be most known for their live DFS drafts, but they also offer pick’em contests. In essence, making NFL DFS picks on Underdog combines daily fantasy sports and player props into one. Available to those in non-sports betting states, a wide variety of player props exist for tonight’s Ravens vs Buccaneers TNF matchup. The more props a user combines together, the greater their potential payout.
Unlike some other platforms in the market, Underdog Fantasy also allows users the flexibility to pick and choose which props they combine together. You can even combine DFS picks from multiple sports and games! When making Underdog Fantasy NFL picks, the only limitations are truly the user’s own imagination and creativity.
Underdog Fantasy Pick’em Payout
For the pick’em game format, users string player props together to form a parlay. If one pick is wrong, the entire fantasy football parlay fails. However, cashing can give a very nice payout, with more picks meaning a higher multiplier.

Best Underdog Fantasy DFS Picks for TNF | Ravens vs Buccaneers
Much like betting odds move and update throughout the day and week, props at Underdog Fantasy also move. In other words, if there is a prop you like, make sure you place it quickly.
Lamar Jackson OVER 61.5 Rushing Yards
Coming into this Week 8 matchup, Ravens QB Lamar Jackson has finished with at least 58 yards rushing in six straight games. Four of those contests saw him post double-digit rushing attempts. Perhaps the best bet for the Ravens’ offense on Thursday night is to run outside of the tackles and expose the Buccaneers’ lack of speed. As such, Jackson could very well be poised for a large number of carries.
Looking back on Tampa Bay’s previous opponents, the Bucs have really only faced one other quarterback who would classify as a true dual-threat weapon. Atlanta’s Marcus Mariota piled up 61 rushing yards on just seven carries against the Buccaneers back in Week 5. With that performance, Mariota owns nearly half of the 128 rushing yards Tampa has allowed to the position this season. One has to believe that Jackson can surpass the Underdog Fantasy NFL DFS prop total of 61.5 yards.
Gus Edwards UNDER 46.5 Rushing Yards
For the past few years, trying to run the ball against the Buccaneers’ defense has been an exercise of futility. This season has been a bit different. Entering this TNF matchup, the Bucs are allowing over 118 rushing yards per game to opponents. Based on that alone, one might expect Ravens running back Gus Edwards to be in line for a strong performance.
In his first game back from injury last week, Edwards rumbled for 66 yards on 16 carries. The issue with trusting a similar output on Thursday night could very well come down to opportunity. Baltimore may elect to reduce his workload off injury and on a short week at that. With Kenyan Drake and Justice Hill also in the mix, Edwards could be hard-pressed to surpass the NFL DFS picks line of 46.5 yards against what is still a solid defense.

Read up on three key fantasy football stats you should know for every NFL Week 8 game.
Chris Godwin UNDER 72.5 Receiving Yards
Coming into this Ravens vs Buccaneers matchup, wideout Chris Godwin has 29 receptions for 293 yards on the season. When averaged out, that equates to only 10.1 yards per catch. Having yet to surpass seven receptions in any of his five games played this season, it’s perhaps no surprise that Godwin has only gone over the Underdog Fantasy NFL DFS yardage total of 72.5 once.
The Buccaneers’ inability to run the ball with any sort of consistency will likely see Godwin continue to be peppered with targets. However, he is certainly not the downfield threat in this offense. As such, he will presumably need to haul in no less than seven receptions in order to have a shot at going over the NFL DFS picks total. However, even a high volume of targets doesn’t guarantee anything. It was just last week that Godwin caught seven of 13 targets, yet still only finished with 43 yards receiving.
Cade Otton OVER 33.5 Receiving Yards
Because the Buccaneers’ offensive line has been so bad in pass protection, Tom Brady has often been forced to make quick reads and get rid of the football quickly. As a result, Tampa Bay’s tight ends have been fixtures in the passing attack. With veteran Cameron Brate ruled out for this Ravens vs Buccaneers TNF matchup, rookie Cade Otton is one to watch when making NFL DFS picks.
In the two other games that Brate has missed this season, Otton has hauled in 10 of 12 total targets. He finished with 43 and 64 receiving yards in those contests, respectively. The Ravens’ defense like to blitz, which could result in Otton seeing even more targets in this matchup. Baltimore has also allowed opposing tight ends to catch 37 of 45 targets on the season.

Justin Verlander OVER 6.0 Strikeouts
As discussed in the Underdog Fantasy overview, one of the beauties of this platform is the ability to combine DFS picks from multiple games and sports into one. If you are feeling lucky and want to push for a bigger payout than the 10x offered on a combination of the four NFL DFS picks above, consider throwing in this MLB World Series prop as well.
In actuality, the Fall Classic between the Philadelphia Phillies and Houston Astros kicks off on Friday night. While we may have to wait an extra day to receive any potential winnings, the over/under prop of 6.0 strikeouts for Justin Verlander is hard to ignore. The Astros ace has finished with at least eight strikeouts in four of six starts made since the beginning of September.
What’s more, one of those appearances came against the Phillies back in early October. Despite only pitching five innings, Verlander fanned 10 batters and didn’t allow a single hit. If Verlander can surpass a half-dozen K’s again in Game 1 of the World Series, this and the four Ravens vs Buccaneers TNF NFL DFS picks above could combine to net a payout of 20x your buy-in amount!
