FlurrySports gives the best Underdog Fantasy NFL DFS picks for the 49ers vs Eagles NFL Playoffs Wild Card Weekend game, including Christian McCaffrey.
In a battle of two strong NFC teams with a bunch of star players, we have the sixth-seeded San Francisco 49ers and the third-seeded Philadelphia Eagles. Given how competitive the NFC (especially the NFC West) has been this season, this first-round matchup looks more like an NFC Championship matchup, as the 49ers and Eagles have two of the better teams in the NFL this season. Either way, this is sure to be a hard-fought matchup with two teams who both have Super Bowl expectations on their mind.
When looking to break down this game for NFL DFS picks, it appears that the Eagles will be a little healthier than the 49ers. Lane Johnson has been back at practice in a limited capacity, while Trent Williams, Ricky Pearsall and Dee Winters will be less than 100 percent if they do play. Using Underdog Fantasy, I looked through the projections for all of the available players in this game and picked my favorite three NFL DFS picks.

Underdog Fantasy NFL DFS Picks: 49ers vs Eagles NFL Playoffs
Christian McCaffrey HIGHER 5.5 Receptions
Even with all of the injuries to their defensive unit, the San Francisco 49ers have been able to ride a hot offensive attack to Wild Card Weekend in the Playoffs. While Brock Purdy has been one of the better quarterbacks in the NFL over the past month, Christian McCaffrey is the main reason why San Francisco has been so powerful moving the ball. McCaffrey has looked as good as he has in a long time in both the rushing and receiving games. Due to Philadelphia’s front seven, with Jalen Carter, Jordan Davis and Zach Baun, I am electing to go with McCaffrey going higher than 5.5 receptions in this game.
If Trent Williams were to miss another game, San Francisco is obviously at a disadvantage on the offensive line and Purdy is going to have to get the ball out quickly against a strong Eagles pass rush. That is perfect for McCaffrey, who always finds himself open underneath. San Francisco may also be without Ricky Pearsall in this game, meaning that they need someone to expose the underneath part of the Eagles’ defense. With George Kittle still dealing with an ankle injury and probably needing to stay in to help block more often, it will be McCaffrey who fills that receiving role in this game.
Jake Elliott HIGHER 2.5 XP Made
While it has not felt like a typical Eagles dominant season, Philadelphia has still had enough firepower to get the ball in the end zone this season. After resting their starters in the Week 18 matchup against the Washington Commanders, the Eagles should be as healthy as they have been in a while, especially with Lane Johnson expected to return. With the return of the future Hall of Famer, Philadelphia’s run game will be as good as we know it has been in the past. That will lead to a few red zone trips, which will ultimately end in touchdowns.
Jake Elliott has been a weapon for the Eagles in his career. Through his playoff career, Elliott has made 36 extra points in 15 games, averaging just under three extra point makes per game, which puts us higher than that 2.5 projection. With the return of a strong run game, Saquon Barkley playing his best football of the year recently, Jalen Hurts’ ability to pick up one-yard touchdowns and Nick Sirianni’s prowess in going for short-yardage situations, Elliott will have no struggles in making three or more extra points in this game.
Zack Baun HIGHER 7.5 Tackles + Assists
When it comes to playoff football, teams need their starting players to play at their best. For the Eagles, that now includes Zack Baun. After a dominant last season, the Eagles paid Baun to be their star inside linebacker. Much of that dominance came in last year’s Super Bowl run, which featured Baun flying around all over the field. In fact, Baun finished each playoff game last season going higher than 7.5 assists + tackles. In order to neutralize San Francisco’s offensive attack, that has to start with containing Christian McCaffrey. Baun will be at the forefront of not only stuffing McCaffrey in the run game, but also tackling him after the catch in the pass game.
At times this season, Philadelphia has not looked like the team that we saw destroy Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs last year in the Super Bowl. Recently, though, glimpses of that dominant playoff run have shown themselves, and now the first test comes to show if they can do it once again. Baun has played close to 100% of the available snaps on defense in every Eagles game this year that he was suited up for. That trend will continue, as in order to beat the 49ers, Philadelphia needs Baun to play as he did in the regular season and last season. That makes one of our favorite of the Underdog Fantasy NFL DFS picks this weekend.
