Trey McBride Draft Profile

Strengths

It’s clear Trey McBride is the best tight end in the 2022 NFL Draft. McBride has a diverse, NFL-ready route tree. He has the speed to run past linebackers at the NFL level and will be dangerous up the seam. McBride has terrific hands and he’s aggressive catching the ball.

Weaknesses

Obviously, McBride’s level of competition in college at Colorado State was low. While he is skilled, this allowed the Rams to use him all over the field, which he will not be able to do in the NFL. McBride also needs to improve both his blocking strength and angles. He also committed eight penalties as a senior, which included multiple holding calls.
