Treylon Burks Draft Profile

Strengths

Treylon Burks is an athletic freak while also being 6-foot-3, 225 pounds. After the catch, he is a problem. Not only does his game speed look faster than his testing speed, but he runs angry and will break through tacklers. Burks is both physical with the ball in his hands and going up for catches. He routinely comes down with the 50/50 balls.

Weaknesses

While Burks is built like a big, athletic outside receiver, he played only 39 snaps against press coverage. This is because he was almost exclusively a slot receiver at Arkansas. His route-runner needs a lot of work and Burks is less versatile than some analysts make him seem, with their comparisons to Deebo Samuel. In actuality, Burks totaled 112 rushing yards on 14 attempts last season. Simply, he was a slot receiver in order to help create separation for him, because his route-running was not skilled enough to do so. However, Treylon Burks is dangerous once he gets the ball.
