We are just three days away from the conclusion of the WNBA regular season. Despite this, only six of the league’s eight postseason tickets have been punched thus far. Entering Friday’s four-game WNBA betting slate, a quartet of teams all sit tied in the standings with only two spots available. All four of those four squads will be in action on Friday night. This includes the Minnesota Lynx who will host the Seattle Storm. Those making a Storm vs Lynx prediction for tonight’s game might be surprised at the current market and pricing. Although Seattle has already clinched a playoff berth and sits seven games ahead of Minnesota in the standings, the WNBA betting odds for this contest are razor thin.

The following game preview includes our official Storm vs Lynx prediction, the injury report for both teams, WNBA betting odds, key betting trends and much more! But first, let’s take a look at this special welcome offer from BetOnline Sportsbook.

Storm vs Lynx WNBA Betting Game Preview

Seattle Storm Preview

The Storm have already known that they would be taking part in the WNBA Playoffs for a couple of weeks now. As such, the focus for Seattle down the stretch has been on trying to achieve the best seeding possible. Unfortunately, they have failed to capitalize on some of the teams ahead of them at the top of the standings faltering. The Storm have alternated wins and losses in each of their last eight games coming into Friday’s WNBA betting contest. This lack of consistency will result in Seattle being seeded no higher than fourth in the postseason.

On the bright side, the Storm did just pick up a quality road win over league-leading Chicago in their most recent outing. With the WNBA’s leading scorer, Breanna Stewart, leading the charge, Seattle raced out to a 38-point first quarter and scored 111 for the game. The midseason pickup of veteran Tina Charles has only added offensive depth to a lineup that already included Jewell Lloyd and Gabby Williams. Even in this, her final season, Sue Bird continues to be a passing wizard. She had eight assists in Tuesday’s win and is averaging a half-dozen per game on the year.

Minnesota Lynx Preview

Of the four teams vying for the final two spots in the postseason, the Lynx have easily been playing the best basketball of late. Minnesota has responded to a three-game skid in late July by winning four of their last five overall. Most importantly, each of those four wins have come against teams the Lynx are up against in the postseason race. After taking out Atlanta at home last weekend, the Lynx went on the road and put together a phenomenal team performance in a win over Phoenix. Despite this, the public is fading them heavily at the betting counter for tonight’s Storm vs Lynx prediction.

It is worth noting that Minnesota’s only loss in their last five games came against the same Seattle outfit that they will face tonight. The Lynx cannot expect to win many games in which the quartet of Kayla McBride, Aerial Powers, Moriah Jefferson and Jessica Shepard combine to score only 26 points. After that was the case last week against Seattle, three of those four players scored in double figures for Minnesota on Wednesday. The only one who didn’t was Jefferson, but she more than made up for it by dishing out 12 assists. Throw in Sylvia Fowles and the newly-returned Napheesa Collier and the Lynx suddenly possess an intimidating amount of depth.

Storm vs Lynx Prediction

Like any other sport, WNBA betting odds and market movement can often be greatly swayed by the standings and playoff races late in the year. One need not look any further than the odds for tonight’s Storm vs Lynx prediction as proof of this. It should be noted that the Lynx are a healthier and more complete team now than they were for much of the regular season. However, when Minnesota hosted Seattle back in June, the spread closed at Storm -8.5. The Storm also covered both home games against the Lynx as favorites of -8.5 and then -6 just nine days ago.

For as great a franchise as the Lynx have been over the year, the Storm have had their number recently. Dating all the way back to August of 2018, Seattle has won an astounding 16 of 18 head-to-head matchups between the two teams! The Storm will be seeking a season sweep when the two teams face off on Friday night having already won each of three previous encounters.

It’s also worth pointing out that while the Storm may not be able to improve their playoff positioning, they do still need to hold off Washington for the 4-seed. With such an incredible adjustment to the WNBA betting odds for tonight’s game compared to the three prior meetings this season, one has to believe that the value lies with the visitors.

From a personnel standpoint, the Lynx will be hard-pressed to find answers inside to Seattle’s duo of Breanna Stewart and Tina Charles. Other than the motivation of trying to chase down a playoff spot, it’s tough to find many strong reasons to get behind Minnesota in this spot. Despite the fact that it is the public play, laying a single point with the Storm feels like a bargain.

Storm vs Lynx Prediction: Storm -1 (-115 at BetOnline Sportsbook)
