Patrick Baldwin Jr. Draft Profile
Strengths
Patrick Baldwin Jr. was ranked as one of the best high school players in his class. He is listed as 6-9, but Baldwin is probably a good 6-10. His height alone gives intrigue to play him as a big power or small forward. His length sometimes bails him out when he gets beat on the defensive side of the ball, as it allows him to block and disrupt shots and passes well.
Baldwin has an incredible jump shot with a high release, making it difficult for defenders to block. He can get hot in an instant and score in bunches, giving him an immediate opportunity to play off of the bench at the next level.
Weaknesses
As one of the best recruits coming out of high school, Baldwin had a stinker of a season, shown by his 34% shooting. Oftentimes, Baldwin plays hero-ball and takes tough shots, as opposed to working the ball around. With his size and length, Baldwin struggles on the athletic side. He may need to play a passive role to start his career. An ankle injury and COVID limited his play during the last two years. He will need to show more effort to consistently make a rotation.
