Packers fans went through a stressful offseason, which featured a real chance the reigning MVP would not return to their team. Well, that is in the rearview mirror, for now. Aaron Rodgers is back, and this offense is expected to be among the best in the NFL yet again. Davante Adams is the NFL betting favorite to lead the league in receiving touchdowns, after being dominant in that category last season. Defensively, the change to Joe Barry at defensive coordinator will lead to forcing more turnovers, but the reckless, “free” play will also lead to giving up big chunk plays. In other words, Green Bay is lucky to have Rodgers back to bail them out.
There was a quarterback switch in New Orleans as well, after Drew Brees retired. Sean Payton decided on Jameis Winston as the starter, though Taysom Hill will likely still have his packages taking snaps. This receiving corps is a wasteland of what it once was, and the defense suffered cap casualties this offseason as well. Still, the front seven is solid and the offense still has Alvin Kamara. There isn’t much else to be excited about on offense, though.
