An interesting clash between the Indiana Pacers and Denver Nuggets is a part of Monday’s NBA slate. The two teams have been trending in opposite directions of late. After Denver triumphed in the first meeting between the teams just 11 days ago, the Pacers will look to exact some revenge on the road tonight. The NBA betting oddsmakers have pegged the home team as favorites for this matchup.

Pacers vs Nuggets NBA Betting Overview

Pacers Outlook

The big news surrounding the Pacers in recent days was the return of Caris LeVert. After successful surgery to remove a kidney mass, LeVert made his Pacers debut on Saturday in a win over the Phoenix Suns. He put up 13 points and grabbed seven rebounds in the game. His return is certainly a welcome sight for a Pacers team that has won just three of their last ten NBA betting matchups. In their first game playing alongside LeVert, both Domantas Sabonis and Malcolm Brogdon were terrific. The former posted a triple-double line while the latter led all Pacers with 25 points. Tonight marks the third and final game of a west coast road trip for Indiana.

Pacers Injury Report

  • Out: T.J. Warren (foot)
  • Questionable: Jeremy Lamb (knee)

Nuggets Outlook

The Nuggets have gained ground in the Western Conference standings in recent weeks. They are in the midst of a five-game homestand and will look to capitalize going up against four teams with poorer records than their own in each of the next four games. Even in a loss to the Dallas Mavericks in their most recent outing, Nikola Jokic continued to put up the monster numbers NBA betting analysts have grown accustomed to. His 26 points, 11 rebounds and eight assists nearly secured yet another triple-double. Joining Jokic on the north side of 20 points were Michael Porter Jr. and Will Barton with 23 apiece.

Nuggets Injury Report

  • Out: Gary Harris (thigh), Monte Morris (quad), R.J. Hampton (virus)
  • Pacers 2020-21 Betting Trends: 15-22 ATS; 21-15-1 to the Over
  • Nuggets 2020-21 Betting Trends: 17-21 ATS; 23-15 to the Over
  • The Pacers are just 1-4 ATS in their last five games following an ATS win.
  • The Nuggets are 6-2 ATS in their last ten games following a loss of 10 points or more.
  • Eight of the last 11 head-to-head meetings between the Pacers and Nuggets have gone over the total.

Pacers vs Nuggets Statistics

  • Indiana is averaging 112.7 points per game (PPG) this season (Tied for No. 14 in the NBA)
  • Indiana is surrendering 112.3 PPG on the season (No. 19 in the NBA)
  • Denver is averaging 115.2 PPG this season (Tied for No. 6 in the NBA)
  • Denver is surrendering 110.5 PPG (No. 8 in the NBA)

Pacers vs Nuggets Prop Bet

Domantas Sabonis Under 6.5 Rebounds (-143 at Bovada Sportsbook)

On the season, Pacers big man Domantas Sabonis is averaging 6.2 assists per game. First off, it’s worth pointing out that this is way above his career average of 3.0. Second, Sabonis has notched eight assists in three of the Pacers’ last four games. This includes his 10-assist performance in Indiana’s most recent game on Saturday. No wonder the NBA betting odds suggest that Sabonis will have another high assist total in tonight’s game.

This bet is simply a contrarian play with the expectation that regression is to come sooner than later. We simply cannot expect the recent rate of assists to continue for Sabonis going forward. Six assists would be right in line with his season average and still land under on this NBA betting prop. With that, I like under 6.5 dimes for Sabonis tonight as my Pacers vs Nuggets prediction.
