Defenses across the NFL forgot to show up this week, with points getting scored pretty much everywhere. We also saw a couple of other rookies impress, but lose, in their debuts. Still, we continued to see a lot of bad football, and more injuries, with not much changing in terms of the NFL Power Rankings.
We also continue to see far too many penalties. Undisciplined football teams, combined with trigger-happy refs, continue to ruin games. This was on full display in Lambeau, with the Cardinals’ 13 penalties ensuring they had zero chance to win. Then, on Sunday Night Football, the Bills and Jets combined for 22 penalties. It became unwatchable at times.
Our weekly NFL Power Rankings will be released here on FlurrySports every Tuesday, so make sure to check them out every single week to see which direction your team is trending.
NFL Power Rankings For Week 7
1) Kansas City Chiefs (Last Week: 1)
The top team in the league had a bye this past week. They remain atop the Week 7 NFL Power Rankings.
2) Baltimore Ravens (3)
When they are in control, there is no offense in the NFL better than the Baltimore Ravens. A backfield of Patrick Ricard and Derrick Henry should be illegal, then you have to worry about Lamar Jackson running the ball as well. Add in the passing attack, and the only team that can stop their offense is themselves. Defensively, there are playmakers all over the field, and they will only get better as the season rolls along.
3) Detroit Lions (2)
The Detroit Lions had an absolutely dominating win, ruining Jerry Jones’ birthday. Still, the vibes surrounding Detroit were bad due to their gruesome injury to Aidan Hutchinson. This is an absolutely massive loss, and Detroit will need to make some moves to improve their pass rush if they want to stay this high in our NFL Power Rankings.
4) Houston Texans (4)
No Nico Collins, no problem for the Houston Texans this past week. The return of Joe Mixon gives Houston a running game that must be respected, making their offense that much more dangerous. This week will be a great measuring stick game for them and the Green Bay Packers. We will see which team is the real deal.
5) Minnesota Vikings (5)
The Minnesota Vikings were off this past week. We will see if the break disrupts their momentum.
6) San Francisco 49ers (6)
After a big win over the Seahawks on Thursday Night Football, the San Francisco 49ers received a few extra, much-needed days off. This team is slowly getting healthier, but the schedule doesn’t get any easier. This week, we have a Super Bowl rematch against the Chiefs.

7) Philadelphia Eagles (7)
If you didn’t look at the result, you would have thought the Philadelphia Eagles got embarrassed this week. They didn’t. In fact, they beat the Browns. The offense is getting healthier, but they still have to deal with Kellen Moore. He is this team’s biggest issue, but Philadelphia is still solid overall. Quit overreacting.
8) Atlanta Falcons (9)
The Atlanta Falcons essentially had a bye week, facing the Carolina Panthers. But, they took care of business which is what good teams do. The passing attack is good, the offensive line is getting better, and the defense has playmakers at every level. They still have a lot of room to grow, but if they reach their potential, the Falcons can be as good as anyone in the league.
9) Buffalo Bills (10)
It was far from an impressive win against the New York Jets, but the Bills did win. The offense looked good early, but the excessive number of penalties, combined with the missed field goals from the Jets, is what gifted them this victory.
10) Tampa Bay Buccaneers (11)
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers’ defense is not very good. However, the offense is incredible. The Bucs put up 51 points this week, and Baker Mayfield is playing more than well enough to keep this team in every game. If the defense can show up to work, then Tampa will be a threat in the NFC.
