NASCAR does something it has never done before this weekend. The Cup Series, O’Reilly Auto Parts Series, and Craftsman Truck Series all descend on Naval Base Coronado in Southern California. The drivers of all three national series will put their skills to the test on a 3.4-mile street course as part of a jam-packed NASCAR San Diego weekend schedule.
The temporary Qualcomm Circuit features narrow passages, sharp 90-degree turns, and rough asphalt that was never originally designed for stock cars. With the action set to unfold against a backdrop of docked warships and naval aviation hangars, it’s important to also recognize and pay tribute to the servicemen and women who put their lives on the line daily to defend our freedoms.
Below is the complete NASCAR San Diego weekend schedule, including dates, start times and how to watch TV coverage for every session.

NASCAR San Diego Weekend Schedule
Navy 250 | NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series
Navy 250
Date: Friday, June 19, 2026
Start Time: 7 p.m. ET
Coverage: FS1
Distance: 170 miles (50 laps)
Stages: Three (12 laps, 12 laps, 26 laps)
Defending Race Winner: N/A
The Truck Series kicks off the on-track action Friday at Naval Base Coronado. Oddly enough, the truckers are the only drivers who have raced on a street course previously in the current season after they joined IndyCar in St. Petersburg back in March. The race adds another layer of intrigue to an already loaded weekend.
With this being the debut of this track, no full-time drivers are allowed to pull double-duty on the NASCAR San Diego weekend schedule. As a result, the Navy 250 field does not have the usual cast of Cup Series stars. However, a pair of veterans will be in the field with Jimmie Johnson driving for TRICON Garage and Brendan Gaughan in a McAnally Hilgemann Racing Chevrolet.
The trucks will kick off a loaded Friday schedule with practice at noon on the east coast. Qualifying will immediately follow with the race slated for the primetime viewing window.
United Rentals Driven to Serve 250 | NASCAR O’Reilly Auto Parts Series
United Rentals Driven to Serve 250
Date: Saturday, June 20, 2026
Start Time: 5 p.m. ET
Coverage: CW
Distance: 204 miles (60 laps)
Stages: Three (15 laps, 15 laps, 30 laps)
Defending Race Winner: N/A
Justin Allgaier carries a two-race winning streak and a massive 250-point lead into the United Rentals Driven to Serve 250. The NASCAR San Diego weekend schedule marks the 18th race of the 2026 O’Reilly Auto Parts Series season.
Allgaier may be running away with the regular season title, but the battle to qualify for the 12-driver Chase field is a much more chaotic picture. Six drivers are separated by just 35 points entering the weekend with only four Chase spots available between them. Saturday’s race could shake up that picture considerably given the unpredictable nature of a brand-new street circuit.
It’s also fitting that Jesse Iwuji, an officer in the United States Navy Reserve, will be in this week’s field driving a car that he co-owns. The O’Reilly Series will practice on Friday and qualify on Saturday prior to the 5 p.m. ET green flag.
Anduril 250 | NASCAR Cup Series
Anduril 250
Date: Sunday, June 21, 2026
Start Time: 4 p.m. ET
Coverage: Amazon Prime Video
Distance: 255 miles (75 laps)
Stages: Three (20 laps, 20 laps, 35 laps)
Defending Champion: N/A
The Anduril 250 serves as the centerpiece of the NASCAR San Diego weekend schedule, a three-day event that celebrates the 250th anniversary of United States independence. It is also the final race in Amazon Prime Video’s five-race broadcast window for 2026.
Shane van Gisbergen enters the weekend as the clear favorite after winning six of the last seven road and street course races in the Cup Series. With the Naval Base Coronado circuit technically classifying as a street course, this only further tilts the odds in SVG’s favor.
Meanwhile, the regular season points battle adds another subplot — Denny Hamlin has torn Tyler Reddick’s once-massive points lead down to just 19 points, and road courses have historically been a weakness for Hamlin. Will Reddick be able to grow his advantage to a larger figure this weekend?
The race also features a pair of special guests. Seven-time Cup champion Jimmie Johnson, a California native whose hometown sits just 20 miles from the track, will make what is expected to be the penultimate start of his Cup career. Meanwhile, Kevin Magnussen will add another threat to the Trackhouse Racing stable as he will be behind the wheel of the Project 91 entry.
In advance of Sunday’s Anduril 250, Cup Series practice will take place on Friday and qualifying will occur on Saturday afternoon.
