NASCAR is back in Atlanta for the second time in 2026, and Saturday night’s qualifying session at EchoPark Speedway did not disappoint. The high-banked 1.54-mile oval in Hampton, Georgia is one of the most unique tracks on the circuit — a superspeedway that races like a plate track, where pack drafting and late-race chaos are almost guaranteed. With that in mind, qualifying speed doesn’t always translate directly to race-day success, but earning clean air at the front of the field never hurts.
The following shares the official starting grid for Sunday’s race, along with EchoPark Speedway track details and key observations from NASCAR Cup Series qualifying.

Official Quaker State 400 Starting Lineup
Ryan Blaney put on a dominant qualifying performance Saturday night, turning a lap of 179.912 mph to claim his second pole of the 2026 season and the 14th of his career. Blaney’s No. 12 Team Penske Ford led a full Penske front-row sweep, with teammate Joey Logano right alongside him at 179.702 mph. It is the first front-row Penske sweep of the 2026 season. Austin Cindric will start eighth, giving Team Penske three cars in the top 10.
The story of qualifying, however, was Toyota’s complete absence from the top 10. Not a single Toyota manufacturer made it through to the second round of qualifying. That includes NASCAR points leader Denny Hamlin, who will start 28th, and Tyler Reddick — second in the standings — who starts 31st. Ty Gibbs (P23) and Christopher Bell (P32) were also well off the pace. Erik Jones was the top Toyota on the grid, starting 11th for Legacy Motor Club.
William Byron, one of Hendrick Motorsports’ strongest performers this season, had a rare off-day in qualifying and will start 26th.

NASCAR Quaker State 400 Qualifying Notes
- Ryan Blaney claimed his second pole of the 2026 season at 179.912 mph, leading a Team Penske front-row sweep with Joey Logano alongside him in second. It is the 14th pole of Blaney’s career and the first front-row Penske sweep of the year.
- All three Team Penske Fords advanced to the second round of qualifying, with Austin Cindric slotting in eighth. Ford as a manufacturer had a very strong qualifying session overall.
- Not a single Toyota made it into the top 10 in qualifying — a stunning result given how dominant the manufacturer has been throughout the 2026 season in race wins.
- NASCAR points leader Denny Hamlin will start 28th. Tyler Reddick, second in the standings, will start 31st. Both will need to work through traffic on a track where plate-racing chaos frequently reshuffles the field late.
- Erik Jones was the top Toyota qualifier in 11th for Legacy Motor Club — a strong result for the organization.
- William Byron, one of Hendrick’s most consistent performers this season, had a rare off qualifying day and will start 26th.
- Shane van Gisbergen had a solid session starting 12th, continuing to build momentum after a strong showing in recent weeks.
- Chad Finchum did not post a qualifying time and will start from the rear of the field.
- At EchoPark Speedway, qualifying position matters less than at most tracks — the drafting nature of the race means the field regularly bunches up and lead changes come in bunches late. Don’t count out Hamlin or Reddick just because of where they start.
