Max Mitchell Draft Profile and Scouting Report
Strengths
Max Mitchell’s pass sets are a thing of beauty. He has perfect fundamentals, getting plenty of depth with great balance. Mitchell always seems to be under control. He has little wasted movement and he will rarely find himself on the ground. Because of his body control and amazing flexibility, Mitchell is able to get leverage often against defenders, despite being a big 6-6 tackle.
Weaknesses
Mitchell needs to put on more weight in order to hold his own in the NFL. Playing at Louisiana, Mitchell also wasn’t tested too often, which is why there are concerns about his weight possibly leading to struggles in the NFL. His only Power-5 opponent last season was Texas. Mitchell also needs to work on his strength and power. Even when he has good technique, he has the tendency to get flat-backed on contact.
