It is officially mock draft season! The 2022 NFL Draft is quickly approaching, with the first round kicking off on Thursday, April 28th. Of course, draft analysis, projections and rumors will be dominating the headlines until then. Among the players hoping to hear his name called in the draft is offensive guard Jason Poe out of Mercer.

Strengths

Jason Poe brings plenty to the table. He is extremely strong and brings tremendous quickness. Just take a look at his measurables:

The fact that Poe tagged me in a tweet of him flexing is also legendary, showing he can be a great personality to add to the locker room.

Because of his rare athleticism and strength, many believe he could become a fullback in the NFL. While it could take some time for him to learn the new position, it’s clear he has the skills to do so.

Weaknesses

At only 6-1, 300 pounds, Poe is likely too small to play offensive line in the NFL, which really limits what he can bring to a team. Even if he does transition to fullback, long-armed defenders will be tough to overcome. In the open field, Poe can get a bit out of control, looking for the big hit.
