Strengths
Justin Fields has extreme accuracy and is terrific at protecting the football. He’s athletic enough to force defenses to respect his legs, as he can move the chains on the ground. In fact, he put his athleticism on display during pre-draft workouts, looking like a smaller version of Cam Newton in that regard. Fields is not afraid to throw the ball downfield, stretching defenses and picking up big chunk plays.
Weaknesses
While Fields protected the ball, he still made poor decisions, at times. He holds the ball too often. Fields also too often passed up easy crossing routes on first down, waiting for something downfield that never came. He also struggled with blitz recognition and his accuracy took too big of a dip when on the move. While they are only rumors, there are also reports knocking his work ethic.
