The Green Bay Packers’ first international game will have fans and the organization alike wanting to keep their team stateside. The Philadelphia Eagles came away with the Week 1 victory, but the larger loss was the Jordan Love injury that occurred during the final plays of the game.
Now back in Green Bay, we have a clear diagnosis of the Jordan Love injury, which brings mixed emotions for Packer fans. Let’s dive into it.
Jordan Love Injury Update For Green Bay Packers
The Green Bay Packers and Jordan Love have not been back home long, but the first order of business was to diagnose the injury to their newly-paid quarterback. While in Brazil, it was determined that the ankle was fine and his ACL was intact. This report suggested it would be another type of injury to the knee.
Following the MRI, it was determined that Jordan Love has a sprained MCL. Of course, this is overall positive news as it means this is not a season-ending injury. However, a sprained MCL does mean Love will miss some time. As a result, the Packers now have the biggest question mark they have had at the quarterback position in some time.

Packers Quarterbacks On Roster
The Green Bay Packers have two quarterbacks on the roster. They made a trade for Malik Willis, who was a third-round pick in the 2022 NFL Draft. He is a mobile quarterback who never was able to win the job with the Tennessee Titans. While he has the most upside of the two rostered quarterbacks, Willis has not been in Green Bay long.
Instead, it appears Sean Clifford is the rostered quarterback with the best grasp on the offense. He has had high and low spots over the past two preseasons. However, many still question how Clifford has made an NFL roster in the first place.
Instead, if this is going to be a multiple-week absence for Jordan Love, and it looks like it will, Green Bay will likely turn to an outside source to be the new starting quarterback. In a future article, we will give our choices. But with the quick turnaround for a home game against the Indianapolis Colts next Sunday, the Packers will have to make big decisions quickly.
How Long Will Jordan Love Be Out?
The Jordan Love injury will certainly cause him to miss some time, but how long will Love be out? With a sprained MCL, this will likely sideline him for 3-6 weeks. The Packers have a Week 10 bye week, so we can conservatively predict Love to return for a few games before getting a week off to rest again.
The Packers’ schedule for the next several weeks is as follows:
Week 2: vs Indianapolis Colts
3: at Tennessee Titans
4: vs Minnesota Vikings
5: at Los Angeles Rams
6: vs Arizona Cardinals
7: vs Houston Texans
8: at Jacksonville Jaguars
