Houston vs Oregon Prediction | College Basketball Betting Picks

Houston has absolutely crushed their competition in their last four games, with their closest game being at St Joseph’s, which they won by 26. The Cougars are led by senior guard Marcus Sasser. He is averaging 16.8 points per game and shooting 42.8% from the field. The next biggest contributor so far for the Cougars is freshman forward Jarace Walker, averaging 13 points and 7.3 rebounds. Houston ranks second in offensive efficiency and ninth in defensive efficiency, according to KenPom, so they will have to carry that over to win this game against a once-ranked Oregon team. They rank in the top 60 in the nation in almost every statistical category, with their weakness being three-point percentage and assists.

Oregon has many weaknesses, something Houston can take advantage of. They rank in the bottom half of the league in points scored, three-point percentage, turnovers, and assist-to-turnover ratio. They only have three players in double figures, with little to zero depth scoring-wise. Fourth-year senior N’Faly Dante is leaned on the most, contributing 14 points and eight rebounds per night. Their only bench contributor is Kel’el Ware, the freshman out of Little Rock, Arkansas, as he piled 16 points last game. If Oregon looks to avoid another loss early in the season, they will have to force Houston to shoot the three-ball and bring the defensive intensity early and often, making them uncomfortable. This should be a defensive affair in Eugene.
