Grizzlies vs Warriors Prediction
Assuming that Ja Morant is indeed held out, it’s put up or shut up time for the rest of this young Grizzlies team. Desmond Bane will need to revert to his First Round offensive form quickly. The other key for Memphis figures to be playing to their strengths, something that they have not done well in this series so far. One key area to focus on is the glass.
The Grizz had the best Rebound Rate (53.3) of any team in the NBA all season long. So far in these Western Conference Semifinals, they have been outrebounded by the Warriors in all three games. The nine-rebound deficit in Game 3 on Saturday was the most lopsided of the series thus far.
When it comes to the Warriors’ half of this equation, one has to anticipate regression in shooting percentages relative to the ambush we watched in Game 3. Even with Morant on the floor, Golden State enjoyed tremendous advantages in both depth and playoff experience. Other than Jaren Jackson Jr. in Game 1, Memphis has relied almost exclusively on Morant to carry the load offensively.
Of course, Draymond Green was notably ejected early in Game 1 which really helped open things up for Jackson. Without Morant, who exactly can be counted on to score for Memphis? Meanwhile, the Warriors have so many offensive threats that Stephen Curry doesn’t even have to be great for them to win. However, a win doesn’t necessarily mean that the Dubs will also cover the inflated betting spread.
Grizzlies vs Warriors Prediction: Warriors 114, Grizzlies 107
