Grizzlies vs Warriors Prediction

If not for the heroics of Ja Morant, the Warriors would be headed home with a 2-0 lead in this best-of-seven series. Golden State is simply deeper and more talented in virtually all aspects of this matchup. Morant may have been able to feed off of the hometown crowd at the end of Game 2, but now it will be Stephen Curry’s turn to do that as the action shifts to the west coast.

A change of venue will certainly be welcomed by fellow Splash Brother Klay Thompson. He had a rough start to this series shooting the basketball in Memphis. Across Games 1 and 2 combined, Thompson shot just 11-38 from the field and 5-22 from three-point range. Speaking of three-point shooting, the Warriors figure to be due for some major positive regression on Saturday night. As a team, Golden State shot an abysmal 7-38 (18.4%) from distance in Game 2. That’s essentially half of the 36.5% that the Warriors shot from beyond the arc as a team this season.

For the Grizzlies to steal a road win, Desmond Bane will need to be better than he was in Games 1 and 2. He is clearly bothered by what is reportedly a lower back injury. With regard to the Grizzlies vs Warriors injury report, it also shouldn’t be lost on anyone that Dillon Brooks is suspended for Saturday’s game after the flagrant foul that injured Gary Payton II. Memphis was already in a tricky spot as far as trying to find complimentary scoring options to Morant. With Bane banged up and Brooks unavailable, the Grizz will be up against it even more in trying to keep pace with the Dubs.

Grizzlies vs Warriors Prediction: Warriors 117, Grizzlies 104
