Celtics vs Bucks Prediction

The Celtics may have won Game 2 of this Eastern Conference Semifinals matchup, but the shooting it took for them to do so is most likely unsustainable. As a team, Boston managed to shoot 46.5% from three-point range, finishing Tuesday’s game with 20 made triples. For the record, attacking the Bucks in this manner is not a revolutionary tactic. Milwaukee tends to sag off of three-point shooters defensively and make teams beat them from downtown. The Celtics were able to do just that to even up the series.

Unfortunately, one has to assume that shooting at a near 50% clip from three-point range will not be something the Celtics can replicate over the long haul. In a similar light, one has to believe that the Bucks will also shoot better than 18% from long range going forward. As a team, Milwaukee combined to hit just three of 18 three-point attempts in Game 2.

While the Celtics vs Bucks injury report continues to list Khris Middleton, it’s difficult to argue that the Bucks are truly doomed without him on the floor. Milwaukee clearly enjoys massive advantages inside when it comes to size and length. The Bucks may have lost Game 2, but they outscored the Celtics on points in the paint by an astounding 54-24 margin. Giannis Antetokounmpo will always get his, but the fact that other Bucks players were able to find such high-percentage looks on Tuesday night is very telling. Unless the Celtics can come up with better answers defensively, they will be hard-pressed to steal a win on the road in this series.

Celtics vs Bucks Prediction: Bucks 108, Celtics 97
