The Buffalo Bills used a terrific end to the season in order to not only clinch the NFL Playoffs but also win the AFC East and the No. 2 seed in the AFC. While the win over the Miami Dolphins was a big one, there were a couple of injuries that were alarming. One of note was a Gabe Davis injury.
Bills wide receiver Gabriel Davis suffered a knee injury in Sunday night’s matchup, but a positive injury update to Davis could mean he is on the field for the Steelers vs Bills Wild Card Weekend matchup.
Gabe Davis Injury Update | Buffalo Bills News
The Gabe Davis injury happened in the second quarter of the Bills vs Dolphins AFC East matchup on Sunday night. He ended up not returning to the game, leaving his status for the NFL Playoffs Wild Card Weekend game in doubt.
After undergoing tests, Davis was diagnosed with a PCL strain. While this is not considered severe, and there doesn’t appear to be an actual tear, his status for the matchup with the Pittsburgh Steelers is certainly in doubt. This will be a situation to watch throughout the week. While logging practice time isn’t necessary for him to play in the playoffs, logging at least limited participation by Friday would be a positive sign.
In his absence, Khalil Shakir and Trent Sherfield both stepped up for the Bills. Shakir has continued his success in his second NFL season, totaling a game-high 105 yards and six catches. Sherfield finished with 24 yards and a touchdown.
Stefon Diggs showcased his typical “passion” in the game by politely asking for the ball. While the lack of plays to get Diggs the ball is still very obvious and confusing, he finished the game with 87 receiving yards. This was his highest total since Week 6.

Rasul Douglas Injury Update Ahead of Wild Card Weekend
Aside from the Gabe Davis injury, cornerback Rasul Douglas suffered a knee injury of his own. Douglas has proven to be a tremendous acquisition since getting traded from the Green Bay Packers. While Douglas thought there was a chance he could return to the game, there is less information and news regarding his injury diagnosis and timeline. However, if there is a week to be down a defensive back, a matchup with the Steelers’ offense has to be high on the list.
