Usually, I am on the train that tight ends don’t mean much (outside of Kittle, Kelce and Andrews) as far as fantasy football relevance goes. This week is different, as there is value everywhere, which may go hand in hand with the onslaught of injuries last week. If you are one of those fantasy owners who doesn’t have Kittle, Kelce or Andrews, here are some fantasy tight end streamers for NFL Week 3.

Fantasy Tight End Streamers for NFL Week 3

Jonnu Smith, Ten (vs. MIN)

Jonnu Smith is currently the number one tight end in fantasy football and is only rostered in 62% of ESPN leagues. No one has benefited more from AJ Brown’s injury than Smith. He is a focal point in the Titans offense, as they are designing plays specifically for him. There is a reason that Tennessee got rid of Delaine Walker and that was to make room for Smith. He has recorded eight receptions for 120 yards and three touchdowns through two weeks of play. The Titans want to get him the ball. The Vikings are on deck, having just lost Anthony Barr. It looks very likely that Smith’s stellar start to the season will continue.

Jordan Reed, SF (at NYG)

In what world do we live in where Jordan Reed is one of the only healthy pass catchers on his team. Reed finished Week 2 with a stat line of seven receptions for 50 yards and two touchdowns. This came in large part to the fact that George Kittle was out last week. If Kittle is out again this week, Reed is a must-play against the bad Giants defense. Rostered in only 12% of ESPN leagues, Reed is a must-add to your fantasy team. With Nick Mullens in at quarterback this week and the lack of receiving options, Reed will probably see a lot of targets, due to him being used as a big-bodied, safe option. If news breaks that Kittle is out this week, hop on the waiver wire, grab Jordan Reed and insert him into your starting lineup, as he among the top fantasy tight end streamers for NFL Week 3.

Mo Alie-Cox, IND (vs. NYJ)

Mo Alie-Cox made the most of his opportunities last week, with the absence of Jake Doyle. Alie-Cox recorded five receptions for 111 yards. In a game where the Colts should steamroll the Jets, it’s likely that Alie-Cox stays involved in the offensive scheme. Philip Rivers has been known to utilize his tight ends and work the middle of the field. This bodes well for Alie-Cox, given what he did last week and the opportunities that are available this week. He can make a name for himself and become a mainstay in that Colts offense. With only being owned in 3% of ESPN leagues, Alie-Cox is almost guaranteed to be available. Pick him up and play him this week, if you are in need of a fantasy tight end streamer.
