In Week 6, we finally get the answer to one of our most burning questions: who is the worst team in the NFL? Is it the 0-4 Miami Dolphins or the 0-5 Washington Redskins? Week 6 also marks the start of a very difficult stretch of bye weeks. In six of the next seven weeks, there will be at least four teams on bye, with the Bills, Bears, Colts and Raiders all off this week. Whether you are affected by the bye weeks or injuries, you may need to find a waiver wire gem for this week. The following are the best “adds” and “drops” for Week 6.
To be considered as a possible “add,” they need to be owned in less than 60 percent of ESPN leagues. The drops on this list are by no means must-drop, but rather they are droppable.

QB and RB Adds
Gardner Minshew, QB, Jacksonville Jaguars (18.1%)
Gardner Minshew has led the Jaguars to two victories and he threw for 374 yards and two touchdowns in Week 5. Minshew has not thrown an interception since Week 1, when he was thrust into action following the Nick Foles injury. The Jaguars play the Saints in Week 6, which is a promising matchup, especially for an offense that seems to be getting better every single week.
Kirk Cousins, QB, Minnesota Vikings (25.5%)
Following the Vikings Week 4 loss to the Chicago Bears, Adam Thielen called out Cousins for not being able to throw catchable balls. That statement apparently got to Cousins and led to his best passing performance of the year. In the Vikings Week 5 victory over the Giants, Cousins threw for over 300 yards, completing two touchdown passes to Thielen. Next week, the Vikings play the Eagles, and Cousins and the Vikings passing game are in a good position to succeed for a second straight week.
Ronald Jones, RB, Tampa Bay Buccaneers (60.9%)
Ronald Jones does not technically qualify as an add, but it is so close that there is a chance he is not owned in your league. Through five weeks, Jones has rushed for 4.6 yards per carry, compared to 3.5 per carry for Barber. Jones has also been far more efficient in the passing game than Barber has. Jones is the running back that you want to own on the Bucs. The Buccaneers do have a bye in Week 7, so if you can’t stash Jones for two weeks, then you may not want to add him.
Pass Catcher Adds
John Brown, WR, Buffalo Bills (59.4%)
Through five weeks, Brown is tied for the lead in targets for the Bills with Cole Beasley. However, Brown is the primary downfield option and has over 100 more receiving yards than any other receiver on the team. The Bills have a Week 5 bye, but if you have a roster spot to spare, Brown can be a helpful addition for future bye week fill-in.
Mohamed Sanu, WR, Atlanta Falcons (42.9%)
Sanu has not had less than five targets in a single game this season and is within eight targets of Julio Jones. Sanu has been able to catch over 80 percent of his targets. This efficiency is likely to decrease as the season goes on, but if he maintains his status as the second receiver option for Ryan, his floor is safe for bye week fill-in consideration.
Preston Williams, WR, Miami Dolphins (4.7%)
Fresh off a bye week, Williams gets to play the Washington Redskins. This could be the only chance that Miami has to win a game until Week 16 against the Bengals. I would expect Williams to continue to be the primary target in the passing game and am not afraid to start him if I need to.
Gerald Everett, TE, Los Angeles Rams (3.3%)
On Thursday night, Everett saw the most targets and had the most receptions he has all year. Since Week 3 versus the Browns, his usage has increased weekly, and over the past two weeks, he has caught 12 of his 19 targets for 180 yards and a touchdown. The Rams play the 49ers in Week 6, which could be a difficult matchup, so Everett could find his way back to the waiver wire for Week 7. However, he is worth owning as speculative stash if your roster allows it.
Droppable Players:
QB: Baker Mayfield, Mason Rudolph, Andy Dalton
RB: Malcolm Brown, Darrell Henderson, Justin Jackson, Duke Johnson
WR: John Ross, Kenny Stills
TE: Ben Watson, Trey Burton, Tyler Eifert, Kyle Rudolph
