With the weekly surge of waivers now cleared, you may have missed out on some of your guys. Like every week, however, there are always plenty of quality players left that, for one reason or another, have gone largely unnoticed. This week may be one of the best weeks for the season for fantasy football running back streamers. With all the injuries that are stacking up around the league, who knows, these guys might even turn into top plays of the week. Here are your Week 3 fantasy football RB streamers.

In order to be included in the fantasy football RB streamers article, they must be owned in less than 60 percent of ESPN leagues.

Week 3 Fantasy Football RB Streamers

Cordarrelle Patterson | Atlanta Falcons (at NYG)

It’s not often that gadget-type players get much love, but Cordarrelle Patterson is the exception. One of the best things about Patterson is his versatility not only on the field, but on the fantasy field as well. Patterson is classified as a receiver and a running back on virtually all platforms. According to our usage stats, through two games, Patterson has received 11 looks per game. That is two more than Calvin Ridley and just seven less than Mike Davis. Patterson also gets as many red zone looks per game as Davis, at 2.5.

The Falcons are an objectively terrible football team. That is part of the reason why Patterson has been so effective this year. Not only can he be used in the running game with his blazing speed, but he can also be a heck of a receiver and receiving back as well. Against the Giants, like other teams, Atlanta’s offense can’t just be vanilla and give the ball to Mike Davis. Patterson will continue to see plenty of looks and is owned in just over 44% of leagues. In what is likely to be a very ugly game, Patterson will see volume no matter how this game turns out.

J.D. McKissic | Washington Football Team ( at BUF)

Coming into the season, J.D. McKissic was extremely high on many people’s radars. After a measly eight rushing yards and one target in Week 1, most panicked and completely dropped him from their team. It turns out the McKissic just needed an extra week to hit his gear, as he scored a touchdown along with hauling in five receptions for over 80 yards. McKissic was used heavily in the passing game late, as Washington fell behind and even vultured his touchdown from Gibson on a goal-line carry. While that touchdown carry may not be something to count on, his ability as a receiver is.

The Football Team plays Buffalo this week in a game that is likely to go in Buffalo’s favor rather quickly. As a result, who do you think would tend to benefit more: the work horse back or the pass-catching McKissic? No matter how this game goes, like always, McKissic will have a positive game script. If they’re playing from behind, he’ll be getting plenty of targets. If they’re ahead, they’ll be more of a run-heavy offense that will need to get McKissic touches and receptions to not only mix up the offense, but to also give Antonio Gibson some rest. Owned in just 49.7% of leagues, McKissic is a great pickup for this week.

Latavius Murray | Baltimore Ravens (at DET)

Mark Andrews was likely taken in the first six rounds of your fantasy league. Receivers Sammy Watkins and Marquise Brown may have been picked later, if at all, but are still the top two receivers on a high octane Baltimore offense. What do those three players have in common? They are all receiving fewer looks through the first two weeks than new signing Latavius Murray. With 9.5 looks per game, Murray only trails Ty’Son Williams. Even with Williams receiving the bulk of looks, Murray has two touchdowns to Williams’ one.

It’s no secret that Baltimore is a run-heavy team. Against a poor Detroit Lions team, this game is going to get ugly pretty quickly. That game script bodes perfectly for Latavius Murray. Baltimore will be running the ball at will all game long and will likely not be doing much else when the game becomes virtually finished. While he might be out-carried by Williams, he is more likely to get a touchdown than him as well. With touchdowns holding so much weight in fantasy, Murray reaching pay dirt just once could be the difference, and he is more likely than anyone else not named Lamar on this Ravens team.
